Horrible!!!!!!! Beginning tomorrow heavy snow, it will last til Friday. I have a knot in my stomach already!!!!! I know I will worry myself sick.. DGD is supposed to come from Mn to her Daddy's tomorrow night.Will leave Thursday evening. DD Heather is on her way to pick up DGS Drew right now. There is no school, nor daycare and boys Mom has to work. Drew will be in town by early evening. Other DGS Hunter was to be with his Dad and come Thursday afternoon after work. The other grandparents are like 12 miles from me. DD #1 (the boys' Mom) was going to come THursday afternoon after work too. Her and her ex's family with Hunter will have to travel 120 miles cross country! The worst part of the storm is expected to be from Thursday afternoon into Friday afternoon! So now I am worrying about DD #1 driving alone and what if she doesn't make it here? Worrying about DGS Hunter and his dad not making it. Worrying about DGD being on the road (DGD's family goes no matter what the forecast!) They are saying between 8 and 12 inches of snow!!! Winds 35 to 50 MPH! This would paralyze the state and close roads and both Interstates here! D@mn it! I was so hoping for a brown Christmas this year and not have to worry!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's a trivia fact for everyone: It's easy enough to assume that the song "The Man Who Shot LIberty Valence" was in the movie of the same name. It was written for the movie, but was not used. Gene Pitney.recorded the song and had success with it but it was not in the movie. The music track in the video linked to above is by Gene Pitney..

I'm going to start Part IV, as there are a lot more songs I want to post. There are a lot more Halloween songs than I realized.

As many times as I've heard "Mack the Knife" from the 1960s on, I never suspected that it was about murder or that Mack was a murderer, and I did not know that the lyrics were taken from Bertold Brecht's Die Dreigroschenoper, which I have both read and seen. I always thought "mack" was something you were supposed to do to a knife, similar to stropping. Now I'll never hear that song the same way again! Thanks, I guess👿 Here's a silly song, from the 1950s, I think: Not a great song, but on topic. I think that there are a lot of songs here that don't fit into other themes (so far), and I do like this time of year. Parties in San Francisco would start almost two weeks before Halloween when I lived there in the 1970s-80s, although in the late 1960s, New Year's Eve was the most popular holiday there, and that's when the best concerts used to happen.
