Anyone planning a plant swap in Fort worth?

I've started about 400 seedlings in pots (I went a little nuts on the seed ordering ) - they are just baby babies but after they get bigger and assuming they all thrive - I will have loads and loads more than I need

Is anyone planning a swap in Fort Worth?

I've planted

Beefsteak Tomatoes

Snap Peas

Russian Black Heirloom Tomatoes

Peppers - bell - habanero - and three others

Have you not checked the Exchanges page? There is a BIG one in Ft. Worth on April 11th.

We haven't set a date yet for the next Ft Worth Swap. It's usually early in November, when the weather is cooler, & we try to start posting about 6 weeks or so in advance to give people time to get ready (start plants for pre-trades, etc). *but*... around about August...or maybe July this very dry year...when the heat & drought have stressed gardener as well as garden, we often have a casual get-together to visit & chat & re-charge our gardening batteries. In the past, they've been held in air-conditioned mid-cities locations: We had 1 or 2 at a pizza place in Haltom City, at least 1 at a Starbucks, can't recall other sites. The one we had one year at the Starbucks across from Irving Mall was really nice. anybody else feeling like a little, not shop talk, maybe "potting shed talk"?

Barefoot I still think ya should of grabbed more but hey you won't be as sore as some of us. LOL Then comes the Fall swap!!!! Yea I'm getting excited just thinking about it. This is a great group & I think we should all post pictures as our babies grow this summer. Marshall Grain is opening a new store on 121 in Grapevine this week. I think this store will specialize in native plants. The Plant Shed is good. My favorite is Calloways. They have the prettiest and I think best selection. And they always have someone there to help with your questions or problems.

Lantana is annual or perennial depending on how cold it gets where you're at. It doesn't like to be frozen. If you don't have extended freezing temps or say, temps in the twenties/teens, it's usually fine, and will return next spring. Don't prune at all unless you are certain danger of frost has past...pruning stimulates new growth, especially in a warmer snap. I kind of hate that nursery tags really give so little accurate infomation...it's been my contention for years that they should have to put zones, plus a warning for plants that can't withstand high humidity for those closer to the coast on those little tags. That is a beautiful unknown iris. I've been thinking about getting some. That type of salvia is an annual...occasionally some plants will overwinter, but not regularly. It reseeds heavily, so don't deadhead until you're sure that flower has cast seed already, and don't put down any weed preventer in the bed (they are typically preemergents, and will prevent any seed from sprouting). Now that I've gone on and on, I'll stop. I like salvia...lots of plants for free! And really hardy to boot.

yes, that is it (although I saw it changed home page look). From there, click on the forums tab near the top. It should take you to the swap pages of that site (not this one). You will have to register there, but I think most people just use their garden web name. You can post your haves and wants and you can edit it as you have more to add or change. So, if you have some trades, you can put them up there. It is like each person has their own forum topic (I guess that's what you'd call it). Anyway, mine would be "alley's haves and wants" (or something like that, I don't remember what I put). Mommyfox and element have been working on it and they've done a really great job. It is so much easier for me to keep up with who has what and what I'm giving.
