NEW: Ara's Round Robin

This will be a pass the box swap. Packages will be sent priorty mail with confirmation number.

Things to put in the box should be garden related items and other things too if you wish. You can send seeds, starter kits, plant markers, seed envelopes, garden magazines, etc. You can also send items such as scented candles, lotions, figurines, and so on.

Inside the box will be the list of names and addresses and the order in which the box will be sent. When you get the box take out items you wish to keep and replace them with equal number of items of your choice, then send the box on to the next person on the list.

Seed packs need to contain:

12-15 seeds if the seeds are large (pea sized)

20-25 seeds if the seeds are medium (pepper sized)

35-40 seeds if the seeds are tiny (moss rose/poppy sized)

There won't be any plants in this swap due to the heat and lack of rain that so many of us are suffering right now.

The cut off date to sign up will be August 15th. I want to get the first box on it's way by August 20th.

ok sent out mellens and earthys questionares to everyone. Mailed them in two different ways - forwarded and in the big word document. Only received an error message for veeje on 2 so far. Now everyone should have everyone's questionares. All books should be mailed out by now. Moving on to March - Feel free to pick your partner baised on things you have that you think they would want baised on the questionares. PLEASE POST who you want as there have been so many problems with emails. I will be making a new thread soon as this one is filling up. I will name it MARCH collectors Corner please post there and I will go and add each person who listed on this thread to that thread when I get the extra time (not today though)... Melinda as for your quest5ion. And by collections do you go by the question of things they collect on the questionnaire or the type of flowers they collect or what? MY REPLY: I don't know how you can send flowers with it being so cold, but if you want you can send an IOU or something like that for the spring. Otherwise - try to go off what they have on their questioinares or even on their gardenweb pages. Just do the best you can. However I know that some people don't have much listed on their questionares so I don't know what to do about that. Glad everyone is enjoying your books!

Ladies, I hate to say it but it looks like this box is a goner. All my attempts to contact Sarah have failed. I thought that perhaps she is just temporairly without phone or internet, and that since the mailing list is inside the box, she would go ahead and forward it on to the next person on the list. It's been ten days since the box was delivered in California. I'll wait a few more days and see if it shows up at pedalpusher's before doing anything else. Carmen, Susan and Marie; I am so sorry this happened so late in the game. I promise you that I WILL NOT leave you ladies hanging. At this point it looks like I have no other option but to put another box together and continue from there. I'll keep you updated. Ara

Welcome aboard squanzon, momtoej, Monipook and WYnative!

A special thank you to Sue (skohler)who is sending me a whole bunch of seeds for this RR.

Monipook, good suggestion concerning the lotion exploding. If anyone does want to send lotion, please make sure and place it in a double zip lock baggie to avoid the possibility of it blowing up in the heat and ruining all the seeds in the box.

We're up to nine now, anybody else want to join?

Just wanted to let everyone know that this robin is just for newbies. I should have made that clear from the git go, "hind-sight...twenty twenty" and all that...

Still waiting on a few of you to get the forms I emailed you sent back to me. If I don't hear back from you by 6 PM tomorrow (Tuesday), I'll assume that you've decided not to participate in this one.

To all those who have signed up I hope I didn't come across as being in too much of a hurry to get the information forms back. I just wanted to get them back as soon as possible so that I would have plenty of time to get everything organized. This is my first time to host a RR and I don't want to mess up and disappoint anyone.

So I apologize for rushing ya'll and withdraw my Tue. 6pm deadline. You have until 6:30....just kidding LOL! If you haven't sent yours back to me yet then please try to have it back by Thursday or Friday.

Good morning fellow bird watchers.

The robin is getting very close to leaving the nest. I received a box of seeds and gifts from Sue yesterday. Did I mention seeds? WOW! seeds, seeds, and more seeds.

The seeds for newbies were donated by Mellen, djm906 and Sue. A very special thank you to all three of you for your generosity.
