Seems I had some info about this product somewhere. I have been looking for it and have come up empty. I have used Superthrive when I was into growing orchids. It worked well with them. I have never tried using Superthrive on my fruit trees. How much is this Root master stuff? Superthrive is ridiculously expensive.

I paid $8.00 for an 8 oz bottle. I am a little Po'd right now. Both mangoes from Top arer losing leaves. this is why I chopped the lancetilla. I didn't fertilize but leaves are turning brown and shriveling up and dropping. At this rate I don't think Lancetilla is going to make it. I can't say it is the lighting because cogshell is right beside it and it looks great. The julie is doing the same but not as much. I don't think the bacrteria stuff I used would do it either. I need to figure this out before I lose them both. I told Mike from Top to use heat packs and he said it wasn't needed because temps were in the 40's when they arrived. I don't think there is much I can do at this point but hope and pray the lancetilla recovers. I am getting a 1000 watt HId for christmas and hopefully that will help but like I said if lghting was the problem my cogshell should be dead. I am watering normally and I used a citrus/cacti blend, any advice? Soil dries out in 2-3 days.

You know you should not add any anything to your trees for the first couple months you got it. It needs to recover from shipping shock. Maybe it was too cold during shipping and now it show signs of that? Can you try to wash off those black stuff on the mango trees? Make sure the room is not too cold. You know 40 or even 50F is too cold for the trees? Especially for small trees like that and in small pots. Some of my trees got leaves burnt from temperature like that and I don't even leave it outside when it's below 55F. Put this tree in the best spot you got in the house near the windows. Also, don't water it too much either. Make sure the soil dry off on top before watering again. I think I only water my trees once a week or the top 1" soil dried. What size pot did you put the tree in? I would keep it in a pot just a little larger than the rootball. Nothing larger than a 3 gallon pot at this point.

I really have not fertilized. The B-1 is a vitamin used for transplant shock, and it helped the Julie. Julie is pushing new growth also. Black stuff wont come off but it is not oozing. I keep trees in 75 degree room. Semms to be working for everything but lancetilla. Pot size is almost same as rootball. I think this was just a weak tree. I don't know. I will just pray it recovers.

I will pray for you too since that is one expensive tree considering the shipping too. Hopefully our spring will come early and we can take our trees out for some sun.

You are so right about the shipping. I figured it out to be about $25.50 per tree. The Lancetilla I thought was not too bad for the price. I paid $39.99 for that one. The worse was the Julie but after seeing what I got, I would do it again. I know that this will be the first tree to fruit based on its size. I don't think the Cogshell will catch up to the julie for quite awhile. The Lancetilla I think is recovering slowly. The biggest lesson I learned here was to call the nursery in PA first because they told me after I had ordered these that they could have got me the same trees for $25.00 a piece! I remember a while ago I tried groing coconut. They ordered it for me and all I paid was $10.00 for it and it was over six feet tall! I may try a lychee and if I do I know who I will be calling first! Too bad they don't ship but lucky for me they are only 45 minutes away!

What nursery in PA? If they have tropicals then I would get from them too. Can you give me the name and address so I can look them up and see how far from my house? I'm crazy to even think about getting more trees....lol

I don't remember the whole adress.I know it is on rte 20 in Harborcreek PA which is right by Erie Pa. I think that is quite aways from you, but it is called Potratz. If you live by the city I would say its a good 9 hours away from you and they don't do any shipping of there plants/trees, but it is a beutifull place. Right now it is filled with Pointsetta and Christmas Cacti. When I was there last, the owner had a Ponkan tangerine tree. I would say about 5 feet tall and nice and bushy for about $75.00. Let him know I told you about it, thats if it is worth the trip for you!

Yes Kristi! I would strongly recommend it. I will tell you how I found this place. It was about 5 years ago. I wanted a banana tree in the worst way. I was coming back to my house with roomate, and he said look! There's a banana tree! I did a u turn on a busy street and flew into that driveway and walked out with my banana tree! That was it, I was hooked to that place. I ave bought my vanilla orchid there, a navel orange tree that didn't make it due to cold temps when our aparment was being remodeled. I got my first mango tree there, it was a Southern Blush. That tree was over 6 feet and I paid $25.00! I also got my giant gardenia tree there. That was also over 6 feet and about 5 feet wide. Now, I can call them up and request any tree I want. I can't wait for January so I can get my red navel orange tree. Jim (the owner)had a tangerine...huge for $75.00. He offered it to me for $50.00 and it had about 7-8 almost mature fruit! I passed on it. I was very tempted but was'nt going to buy it just to buy it. I only have limited space for maybe 2 more trees.
I strongly advise calling. If they sell any kind of tropical fruit, chances are you could get another tropical fruit. Good luck!!
