I am interested in the white ones you have of lychnis. I have the hot pink fushia ones, and have been pulling them up. I will have seeds of: orange ca. poppy, a red perennial tall poppy, assorted columbines, like pink, double flower pinks, blue, and a white one. Seeds are getting ripe now. I will also have seeds of hyacinith bulbs. We have had a very rainy spring, so things are slow at getting the seed ripe, plus, I deadhead most things so they do not make seed. Also have seeds of orange welsh poppy, a perennial, short one. Darlene

Terry- since Terra Nova specializes in varigated foliage perennials, they might have some suggestions for you on how to refine your breeding process. I agree that getting a true seed strain would be the ideal for a biennial. Some Lychnis are perennial I think. I know my 'Gardener's World' one was (until it got killed as part of a landscape renovation). I wonder if you could cross-breed it with that plant. Perhaps it's sterile. I don't recall. I just thought cuttings might increase your 'mother' plants. In any case, here's the new plant solicitation information for Terra Nova- it's worth checking out. Thanks you. Isn't it odd? For some this plant is almost a weed. For me, I have the hardest time just getting a few to survive each winter. I'm sure my soil is too moist and too rich for them, but if they do survive a winter they do great. All these seedling that appeared last fall did so in a pine needle covered garden path - not the garden itself. Now I get to transplant them to where I want them. Kevin
