Karen, 90% of people heal from this in time without intervention. Try a hot wet towel with Epson's Salts in it over the neck and across the shoulder. It will help to shrink the area of inflamation, which could take some presure off of the nerve, which could also allow the offending 'origin of nerve compression' to go back into place. When I had my pinched nerve the pharmacist mixed up an Ibuprofen cream (a compound ordered by the doctor) that helped a bit. You are right there is no such thing as a pain pill for a pinched nerve. However, there are some new drugs out now that are supposed to deal with specific nerve pain. The doctors have to use an A B C protocol. The thing that finally helped to move my frame enough to alleviate the nerve pain was water traction at a water therapy place. A flotation device was around my neck and weights were on my arms and feet. You hang around in the water by your neck. One day I twisted a little and I have never had pain since. It took me two years to find this relief. Oh, BTW it was my Chiropractor who caused this ruptured disk/pinched nerve. I use to love to go to Chiropractors but accidents can happen with them just like any other profession. Pain/heat patches can take the mind off of the pain a bit. They make them now that last for up to 8-12 hours. A little pricey but could help to get you through the dog show. I would put one at every nerve point down the shoulder and arm for that day. I can and I will pray with the deepest compassion when it comes to chronic pain. TAKE TIME TO DO THESE INITIAL THERAPY THINGS AND NO LIFTING!!!!! If you lift you will just keep reinjuring and reinflamming. 2 cents from Susie.

I followed it with concern and I'm very sorry at the way it turned out. He was coming to school here and many here feel it too. We all lost, as well as his family, of course. The backroads around here are great avenues to great places, but they are steep, narrow, and subject to washouts- usually no guard rails or warning signs. It can be very easy to end up wrongside.
