Hi I asked this same question on the Florida forum and three other people have had the same experience in the last 3 months. 2 of them discarded the plants so will never know if they will sprout. I have had them sulk from the cold before but this was much more like a plant slipping into dormancy. It is now sprouting in a total of 5 places.!! These are my favorite plants right after orchids and Epicactus . I have Black white and a green form. The white is bigger and showier but a black flower is unusual lol. Melt your face off humidity is the norm in my corner lol These sprouts are not seeds as I've had those sprout before quite distict because they remain attached to the pod for weeks. Anyway if anyone else has this experience it may not be dead but only slumber lol gary

As for the plumeria pudica, I'm not sure, but is that one that does not drop its leaves in winter? I notice in your picture, it looks quite different, the leaves look darker and "bolder"! You are right about wanting more!.. My other adoptee is a one-branched creature with larger leaves on the top. As I've asked in another post, I was hoping, perhaps next spring, to cut the branch into a cutting and start a new one (the propagation bug bites too); or else maybe I should give it another year to show that it too can blossom (It has never). Thanks again. Does anyone who might have seen my pix submitted on July 12 to the gallery, have an idea of which "named" variety it might look like. I realize it doesn't prove it is; but curious! Hi All, I recently brought a Black Bat Flower from the local nursery. It has doubled in size since I've brought it. Its in a large pot (The plant isn't root bound) and has been truly happy with its position indoors, and has three flowering flowers. I went to water it this morning and noticed the flower and plant is all limp and flower is only half way through its cycle and is bending over. Does anyone know what this is from? Please help.

Wow, Bihai, what a gorgeous plant! Something for me to aspire to--growing such a magnificent specimen of such a difficult to grow plant. What's your soil like? I'm growing indoors in containers. Mine need repotting up, but I don't know what kind of mix to use. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Surprised that yours likes so much light. Mine seem to burn easily in direct sun. I was able to germinate the seeds easily enough, but growing them is something else. Kamicryze, Here's how I germinated my Tacca integrifolia seeds: ***** H2O2/Bleach for Seeds (from www.sleepyoaks.com) Sometimes I add a cup of common drug-store hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) to a gallon of water, if the plant receiving it is in a situation where it should have more light. This usually happens when there is a hard freeze warning and the plants all come inside. When a plant is in a dark place, it is likely to absorb oxygen to sustain itself. The extra oxygen molecules in the hydrogen peroxide give the plants this extra little boost. Don't overdo it. Another thing I have found H2O2 to be good for is the following: Oxygen kills fungus. If there is the suspicion that there may be a fungal problem in the soil, try watering with the same 1 cup to a gallon of water solution. Oxygen encourages rooting: Try the same solution for putting a "difficult to root" cutting to soak in for up to 3 days before potting it as you normally would. I have had very good results with this for rooting conifer cuttings. Try the same solution with the addition of 1/4th cup bleach per gallon of water for a soak for seeds to be planted the next day. The oxygen makes the first root shoot out of that seed big and strong, and the bleach acts as a fungicide, killing any fungal spores on the seed. Likewise, the same mixture can be used for the first watering of the seedbed. Do not do this again as the chlorine levels may build up in the seed-mix and cause death to the whole bed. ***** My seeds germinated in record time--only three and a half weeks. The seedlings look OK, but are just not doing much. How slowly do these things grow anyway? Good luck to all of us! KarenMN
