nero, my understanding is that they will be Femminellos in five gallon growers pots. thanx for the site that you sent. and I agree that tree seems a bit too pricey for my blood. i guess when you add in the cost of shipping I'd be looking at close to a hundred bux. I haven't grown lemons yet. so don't want my "starter" tree to cost me an arm and a leg (and a pair of lips as my brother says -- ha, ha, ha). if you find one at one of your big box store, let me know and I'll do the same for you as well. counting the days until spring :-)

I think they are fascinating trees--Poncirus. The first time I ever the tree was in Longwood Gardens in Pa.. They are hardy were I am but no one seems to grow them and I never see them being sold at garden centers. As I understand it, botanists classify them either as true Citrus or a very close relative. Their leaves remind me of the Kaffir lime (though the Ponciris has an additional third lobe). I As I said, I have mine containerized because I tread the thought of what I'd have to go through if I ever wanted it removed--those thorns are NASTY. Then again, I'd imagine they make for great security fences--and they're deer resistant I believe. Keep in mind though that the tree is deciduous.

Hmm. It may be Botrytis. Lemons tend to be more susceptible to Botrytis than other citrus cultivars. You would want to treat with copper. You say you're in S. Yes, Adrian, bag or any other humidity increase method is essential for the graft to take. It should be over the scion and cut from the moment you do the the graft, up to 10-20 days. This is the reason parafilm is used to cover all the scion. Bag should be sealed with rubber band or anything else, but in your case I think now it is futile to cover. 3 days without protection is enough for the cuts to dry out and not heal. I would re-read one of the tree/graft by shorting both the rootstock and scion with about 1cm, and then covering them with proper parafilm/food foil/strip of plastic bag/teflon tape etc. Then I would put a plastic bag over the whole scion-graft area, selling-it with rubber band. Grafted tee should be kept in shadow for the next 2-3 weeks. Then we will talk again.
