Sungold, $2.99 for 8 seeds, are they worth it?

I was at my local Armstrong nursery buying tomato seeds. Most seeds were around $1.79 for they say 20 seeds, but I bought some and there were actually 40 seeds in the package. But I hesitated on the Sungold. That price seemed kind of pricy. I have been reading these forums and a lot of people raved about Sungold, are the seeds really worth four times as much as other varieties? For instance I bought a pack of about 30 Supersweet 100 seeds in Walmart for a dollar, and a pack of about 300 Ace 55 VF in Home depot for $2.29. I usually only use part of a pack of tomato seeds each year, so I usually get two or three years worth of seedlings out of one pack, but with only 8 seeds, that doesn't leave anything for next year, especially if I plant more than I need just to be on the safe side in case some don't germinate or die.
