There's also individual variation between plants of the same variety. Genetics are not identical--just stable for the traits of the variety. The way 2 German shepherds will meet the breed standard but not be clones of one another at all. For example, I have 2 Earl of Edgecombe plants in similar sized containers right next to one another, getting fed and watered the same. One is very branchy/bushy and has twice the fruit set of the other. But it had early BER, has smaller fruits, and is slower to produce ripe fruit. The other is more tree-like in habit with a clear main stem, has fewer fruit, but average fruit size is larger, and it's ripening earlier. Both have the same foliage, though, and fruit characteristics are very similar. It's hard to draw solid conclusions from small sample sizes. You'd have to grow out a bunch of plants in identical conditions except for the variable you're testing. Or, if you wanted to do a very small sample size, you could probably take suckers of the same plant and root those and grow those to compare. But you'd have to account for the time difference/maturity difference of the suckers.

Hey there, sorry to say I would not expect these to pick up - they just don't look healthy overall. In the end it would be a better idea to buy a packet of zucchini seeds and start over - plants you have to coddle with supports are not usually ones that will end up doing you proud. This is not actually one baby zucchini plant, but 5 or 6 individual seedlings that have been grown in insufficient light. Their stems are long, thin and weak from trying to stretch and find more light, and it looks like this has been the case for longer than the 2 days you've had them. If they kept growing, they might be stunted (their true leaves already look quite small) and never produce. The good news is growing a zucchini plant from seed is easier and cheaper, and will probably result in a healthier plant, than buying an already-established plant. If you can, place your container in a spot with more direct sun and drop a few new seeds in there. The new seedlings grown in adequate light should have shorter and sturdier stems, grow faster and will not need support. :)

Another lesson from this is not to plant seedlings right on top of each other. If you put six seeds in one hole, as it appears you've done, you're going to have six plants coming out of that hole, each of which would fill that whole pot and a lot more. That will make separation of the plants without damaging the roots very hard to do. The roots of your plants are all tangled up. If you plan to put a bunch of plants in one pot, with the idea that you're eventually going to separate them, at least spread them out. I suspect that they're so tangled up that separation won't be smart. Snip away.

I have some experience with this plant. You can try saving your dracaena by taking it out of the wet soil it's currently in, and letting the roots air out and dry out for about a day; then, repot it in new, well draining soil and give it very little water. I, too, think that every other day is much too often to water a dracaena. Let the soil dry out slightly between waterings - I'm thinking it'd only need watering maybe every 10-14 days, or even less frequent, depending on the soil. Best of luck!
