Yes, it does! And this is it!!!! Our last month for the swap. I have to say this.....YIPPEE!!!!!! It has been a LONG swap.

But, with having said that I would do it all over again. I met soooo many GREAT people that have come and gone from the swap. Many of which I miss hearing from and think of often.

You guys have in the swap since the beginning! HATS OFF TO YOU ALL--talk about dedication! Barb--I don't think you ever had any problems arise as far as this swap goes. Thanks so much to you all.

I don't think I will do another 12 month swap--it can get pretty busy around here--especially when your first swap ever is a 12 monther. But I may do a shorter one and I would love to have you all again.

Or better yet---who's turn is it next to host? lol

I would love to have a roll call and hear from each of you for our last month together. Post in and just say HI. Or let me know of any problems, etc. At the end of the month I will reveal who your pals are (BIG SURPRISE, LOL---I think you all already know!!!!!) There has been so many changes.

Bulbs sound cool....I can always use more lilies and liatris

Just a reminder if you didn't know...If you have a starbucks near you ask them for their used coffee grounds. They make a great soil additive and they are free and keep them from going to the landfill. My plants look great this year already! I have been using them for a year now. Just spread them over the soil like compost or you can add them to your compost as they are high in nitrogen. More information in the compost forum.

Hi everyone, Sorry claudia that it took me so long to post I haven't had much computer time lately! I did receive the box and it was wonderful!!!! I receieved a set of vanilla ginger lotion, body wash and body spray that smells wonderful(my husband even likes it!! He is very picky about the scents I wear but he loves it!) and wonderful tote bag that now holds all my current knitting/crochet projects that were in a brown paper bag in my living room! and a bunch of seeds including some very neat fern spores! Thanks so much claudia for the great box I loved everything and I think it will be so neat to grow ferns from spores!! I hope I didn't forget anything claudia if I did please forgive me! I am behind sending out my pals box for this month again but I will get it out very soon probably the first part of next week! Thanks again claudia for the awesome box! Carly

Ok~I got my second box from Alison, and WOW I had to pick my jaw up off the floor when I opened it! I hope you got my email Alison the day I received it in the mail. I sent you a very Big Thank You email because I didn't have time to post that day. I wanted to make sure I had the time to do a proper posting on the wonderful goodies I received. Sometimes my emails don't get thru to gardenwebbers. Hope it did get to you, because I am one happy camper-as we used to say in the day-not sure if people still say that, but that's what I am! Where to begin.....let's see....well I have been searching everywhere for these blue bottles. I saw this article in one of my magazines of these gorgeous blue bottles on the ends of bamboo poles stuck in the ground all around a flower bed. I have been wanting to do this to my Son's sensory garden. Thought it would nmake a good sight addition to it. Well I have searched and searched with no luck. The only one I came across was at an antique store and they wanted 12 for one bottle-yeouch! Well when I opened that box there sat not 1 but 6 bottles! Perfect for what I would like to do. I can't wait to set this up. I will have to post pics on our site when everything is grown in around them. She also sent me these fabulous vegetarian cookbooks. I have already enjoyed bookmarking ones that I can't wait to try. I didn't have any of them. I sat down that night with the wonderful coffee you sent from England-very good by the way-I love it-the flavor is so rich-and the yummy chocolates you sent(2 bags of lindors truffles-one dark and one milk-love em). I sat on my backporch and drank coffee and browsed recipes. Very relaxing after a day working. Alison also sent me a book to go with the mosaic supplies she sent before, and she also sent more plates. I really can't wait to get this project rolling. The book is great and will be very useful, as I wasn't sure how to get started. Alison also sent some christmas pudding from England which I am going to try tonight with some more of the coffee-on the backporch of course. She also sent one of my favorite things-garden lions! I love love love garden lions and these are so cool. They are little pot feet sitters. I have the perfect pot to put on them too. It is a large pot I keep my tree rose in. With the rose and old pot it is in, it is the perfect combination with how these little guys look. I will have to get a pic of that too to post on our new site. And she even remembered my kitties. She sent a bag of cat toys. My cats went hog wild over those. My one kitty plays fetch like a dog and he has taken a liking to the dog shaped one. Too funny. Now they can leave me alone after coming in from working in the garden smelling of catnip. Does anyone else's cats do that? Mine are all over me when I come in from outside. I really hope I didn't leave anything out. This box was just so fabulous. Alison you are the best!!! I can't wait to repay your kindness when I have you as my partner to send to. Efrosty: I love the picture of the kids are they yours? and the Nature picture of the bear too and such wonderful roses. How cool of your pal to do that. Irish rose grower: I love the picture of the purple lobelia and the old watering can! and the pick flower, is that a kind of scented geranium? or what kind of flower is that? your guy's photo's sure brightens our page up. How do you post the pictures? What is the secret? Please share.....please :) Okay I finally found the recipe to the peach salsa quest I was on. It is just in time for peach season here, mmmmmm Here it is for those that were interested. Peach Salsa 6 cups chopped peaches (about 3 pounds) 3 large fresh tomatoes 1 1/2 cups chopped red onion 4 medium jalapeno peppers, seeded and finely chopped 1 large sweet red or yellow pepper, seeded and finely chopped 1/2 cup finely chopped cilantro 1/2 cup white vinegar (or lime juice works really well instead of the white vinegar) 2 tablespoons liquid honey 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1 teaspoon salt 1. Sterilize 8, 1/2 pint jars, then place upside down in a 325 F oven for about 15 minutes. 2. Blanch peaches, cool in cold water, peel, pit and chop to measure 6 cups. 3. Blanch tomatoes and cool with cold water, peel, remove seeds and cut into chunks. 4. In a large stainless or enamel cooking pot, combine peaches, tomatoes, onion, Jalapeno peppers, sweet red or yellow pepper, cilantro, vinegar, honey, salt, garlic, cumin and cayenne pepper. 5. Bring to a boil, and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring frequently. 6. Adjust seasonings to taste. 7. Add more cayenne pepper if you desire a spicier taste. 8. Ladle salsa into hot jars to within 1/4 inch of top for headspace. 9. Remove air bubbles by sliding a rubber spatula between the glass and salsa. 10. Re-adjust the headspace to 1/4 inch. 11. Wipe jar rim to remove any stickiness. 12. Center lid on top of jar; apply screw band just until finger tight. 13. Place jars in a hot bath in a canner and process for 15 minutes. 14. Remove jars and place on a towel, then cover with another towel to cool slowly. 15. Jars are sealed when the lids pop and are curved down, (concave). 16. Label jars and store in a cool, dark place. 17. NOTE: You can substitute and use 6 cups of fresh, chopped pineapple for a different flavor. I don't see why mangoes could not be used, also.Be sure to use the full amount of vinegar. You may also use either lime or bottled lemon juice in place of the vinegar.

Does it really have to end?? It was a year full of fun, swapping and meeting great people - thanks to you Dawn, what a great job!!
Spring finally arrives also in Minnesota. The first tulips and hyacinths start to come up. DH an I are - hopefully - moving soon to our little farm we bought back in January. Until our house sells, we are busy juggling jobs, restoring the farmhouse and dreaming of beautiful gardens out West.

I'm still here. For that, I'm grateful. And, I've had a great time being in your swap, Dawn. LOL It's been hard trying to act like we don't know who is who around here. LOL Julus, I wish there was a Starbucks near me. I've used our coffee grounds in the garden for years, and everything else, peelings, egg shells, etc. I don't know if it's possible, but I think I'm an even bigger hortiholic at the end of this swap than when I started. Gardening is in my blood and in my soul. I'm glad to have you all as my friends. May your gardens continue to flourish and grow, and you enjoy every minute of every day. Bulbs for April sound great to me. : ) Our snow is leaving!!! Treasa

Julus, I have some plants popping up out of the ground that I plan to send you divisions of. Will make this box worth4 months worth my gardening friend.

About "Hortiholic's Anon", Dawn asked who would like to be the next host. Well, I have pondered over this ever since I seen those words, LoL. So, who all would like to see this robin go another year? If there is truly some interest, I would love to carry this on to Year 2!

For the month of May, everyone would have to send a nice gift box to Dawn for hangin' with us for so long and keeping this robin going. So, the only person getting gifts for the first month would be Dawn.

Tina, I'm in new yearly swap, so I should limit myself to one of those.
I received my package today. All of my boxes have been great, but I think the best one I've ever received came today. I had to get a hanky, it was so nice. Julus sent me such a special package. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Julus! My box was perfect, absolutely perfect. There was a bag of 30 white Gladiolas. Oriental Lilies (4 Muscadet, 4 Tom Pouce, and 8 Stargazers. Two hummingbird feeders. An Easy-grip cultivator/hoe tool. A welcome sign on a stake, with "Garden tours daily" painted on a trowel. And..........a cheerful Forest Face to put on a tree trunk, and I have the perfect spot already selected for it. Julus, thank you again. You deserve a hug. Please tell your wife that she has to give you a hug for me. Your box is very special, and I will enjoy everything. Thank you. : ) Treasa

Sorry I haven't had a chance to post till now. Ailing family member has had me preoccupied.
Thanks to Dawn for all the time she put in with this swap...especially lining up new pals for me when others had to leave. It's been great fun!

Thought Spring was here, but then it left and we got cold! LoL
Looks like after tonight, the freezing night temps will move out, yea!!!! :-)

Julus, I was wondering around the greenhouse and found a few plants I think you may like, and I have quite a few from my gardens that would like to live in Wisconsin ;-).
I am hoping to ship out next Wednesday to you. Will keep you posted.

i just wanted to post my box went out yesterday, and i received mine as well.. i got a huge box full of iris's..i will have to sit down and list all of them...hehehehe i got a whole iris collection..

I just found my April package I had received from Barb, a gift certificate from roots and rhizomes - yeah!! Thanks Barb, what a great catalogue. By the way the letter was hidden away, we had a showing for our house - and of course I was hunting for another letter when I found it!! I really start to dislike this kind of life, everything hidden away, ready for showings, I sure hope this will end soon and we finally sell our house and can move to the farm.
Most of the plants I have received from Barb - thanks again - are already out at the farm.
I had great fun with this rr. Thanks Barb, special thanks to Dawn to organize a year round rr. BTW did you ever find your Brug?
I hope you all have a great gardening year, stay healthy and happy and maybe we will 'meet' again for a trade sooner or later.
