I don't have mine set to send notifications of my posts, but email notifications are crazy. Mostly I get them, but occasionally I get a notification sent to an email address I rarely use anymore. I think I did use that as my email before it changed to Houzz, but it is not on my settings now. And occasionally I don't get notifications at all. Plus, I have had a couple of people tell me I need to sey up to message, looks to me like I have, and I certainly get messages from others. But I am technologically challenged.

i have 5 acres .. 500 feet square ... with a 8 foot deep valley across the middle .. east to west .. you wouldnt think that would matter .... but it does .... i can have heavy frost in the bottom ... light frost on top ... and no impact on the decline ... probalby due to cold air moving to the low spot ... in other words.. i have 3 micro climates on the parcel ... such could not be addressed by some gizmo based thingee ... lots of technical terms there.. lol ... especially when the nearest weather station if 5 miles away ... in essence.. you are playing the zone pushing game ... it has cost me a lot of money and plants over the years ... thinking i could outwit ma nature... its part of the game.. we all want what we cant grow ... you should be able to beat one zone.. in the city .. by proper placement within your garden ... e.g. against the house is usually warmer at night ... the side of the house out of prevailing winds that bring in cold air at night ... under larger evergreen plants.. etc .. at some point this game involves putting down the gizmo.. and turning those thumbs green ... thru experimenting .. and no gizmo based alert is going to make your thumbs green ... i dont think you told us what the plant is ... and most of us dont do CA or z10 ... but we would like to help if we can ... as you were private ... ken

Yes. Same. It's frustrating. I even thought to post about it here as I keep getting a notice box on the screen forcing me to make a choice, rather in my face about an unread message (that is read). This notice also overrides checking the post notifications and will slip the screen back to the durn unread messages that have been read. As for notifications on posts...that is a toss up as to whether I will actually get a notification or not. Sometimes not, other times not until it's really old news and no one is thinking about it anymore. Including me. The bonkers way things happen here is why I don't install the app on my phone. I only check in here on my laptop. I wouldn't want my phone freaking out over H*uzz.

Sometimes my little notification BELL shows one or 2 - or shows nothing at all - but when I hover over it there are many more unread responses on various threads I've commented on. Very inconsistent so not worth counting on. The wackadoo message notifications seem to have subsided and it may be because I deleted all messages over a year old. There were literally hundreds from back when we all were thinking about migrating to another host and I collected emails to let people know. There is not batch delete option here at Houzz so I had to go through them one at a time to delete. Took some time.
