Actually it would be relatively easy to make up a list of Garden Pest references because Googling "common _____(insert name of vegetable) pests" gets you all sorts of photos for the few true garden pests. Some already exist here in various froums (see Common Tomato Pest FAQ and all the Ask the Experts FAQs on Pests. The problem is that so many think all bugs in their garden are pests when it's really the other way around - the vast majority are beneficial insects. Less than 10% of the insects in existence are harmful to the garden and many of those are damaging only if you have a major infestation. This approach to gardening is called Integrated Pest Management and has been around for years. Based out of the University of California, it has its own IPM forum, here, and its own educational website full of great info IPMyou might want to explore for info on each and every garden vegetable. Well worth bookmarking. In fact most all states have their own IPM Programs run through the AG Extension at their state university. The University of Georgia also has its own IPM research and info website UG IPM and is currently focusing on the "50 Insects Important to Agriculture in Georgia". Worth checking out as well - especially the section on vegetable gardening. Hi there, A winter gardening book is "The Winter Harvest Handbook" by Eliot Coleman. He is in Maine, and has lots of good ideas for season extending. He does grow crops all year, many in unheated moveable greenhouses, and under row covers and so on. He has all kinds of good ideas. If I really wanted to garden somewhere, I would go to soil conservation service maps and find the best soil in the area I was looking at, that I could afford, to begin with. This might save time and anguish later. I did this when I bought my house, and I am glad I did. I really think that it mostly takes wanting to have a garden, and then the rest of the details sort of fill themselves in. Every area has it's good and bad features. I would just pick where I wanted to live, and then make a garden on the best soil I could find. Think loam.... Also, check for covenants before you buy or rent a new place. Some places around here won't even let you have tomatoes in pots on your patio. Good luck!

I followed that law suit...and I actually sided with the RE on that one...if I recall correctly, if you looked on a map, it was clear the property was in the Towaco section of Montville Township...not the Montville section.... If so, this link below seems to indicate that the buyers won...although IMO, that is a BIG stretch of the consumer fraud act...when in NJ thousands of people donÂt have an an address that reflects the town in which they live... We live in a municipality of one name...in a village of a different name within that municipality. There is no mail delivery to homes from our village post officeÂ..its too tiny....so our mailing address is that of the adjacent borough. However, we DO have our very own tiny village zip code...but any mail delivered to that zip code requires a PO Box. To complicate things further, there are two municipalities with our municipality's name in NJ....in two different counties...so we have found our name listed under the one in the other countyÂ.at least 50 miles away. Our phone lines come out of the nearest small city...so on various internet phone directories, we are listed as living in that city. Also, Âour mailing address zip code of the adjacent borough is ALSO the zip code of the next municipality over. The other municipality mailing address zip code is that of another borough altogether.....so, we have seven different names to deal with... cpartist or others that have insight to my questions: -Can you explain the logic/reasoning behind the ideal kitchen set up? I can appreciate that the closer the fridge, stove and sink are to each other, the less steps you are moving, less distance you are carrying heavy pots, etc. But what is the significance of 'crossing zones?' Is it geared more towards those that are cooking with another person (i.e. not bumping into them as crossing those zones?)? I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything, as this is my first custom built home and I trust the professionals here on Houzz. So what if I moved the fridge next to the pantry? I also understand that I'm working with some specific wants (sink at the window, corner pantry - as I don't know where else to put it and I need the storage, etc) that prevent the ideal set up - either I have to give up my wants if the flow will be that much better or I live with a less than ideal set up to have my wants. -The corner pantry - 'breaking up the counter' - do you all use the corner counter that much? I currently have a corner counter and I feel it is wasted space as it is hard to reach to the back of the counter and I really don't use that area as much as the other counter areas. Is it more of an aesthetic/visual issue - the 'breaking up the corner'? Again, I appreciate all thoughts and reasonings so I can understand and build the home that works the best for me and my family.
