Try a different browser, like Firefox. It's free and setting it up will only take a few minutes out of your day. Before you discontinue using IE, be sure to clear the cache to eliminate unnecessary files. Click on Tools, Internet Options, then Delete Browsing History, (If you've never done it, that could be a possible cause of your problem. Browsers accumulate a lot of unneeded junk files over time). A PC with Vista is >5 years old, paying for a Windows upgrade is probably ill-advised anyway. It's also possible that the PC has a hardware problem. If erratic behavior continues, it's time to buy a new PC. I personally wouldn't take such an old machine to a tech to diagnose or fix.

do you happen to still have the paper work that came with it like the directions and the instructions manual that will have all your default info in it and how to reset it. If not look on the bottom for the model and google that you should be able to go to the manufacturer site and find the manuals. Did you set up your router originally with it connected to a desktop computer, in other words which pc did you install the software on? The router is setup on the family PC not my Laptop. Unplugging the router (and modem if one) itself from power and powering down all the computers, then power up the modem if you have cable first then after a while power up the router and once it is fully up then power up the various computers, often makes a big difference. I think we have a modem and a router for Xbox and laptops. are you just using the Vista built in firewall? Yes.I'm using the windows firewall. what are you using is it cable or dsl or what for internet? My son says it's cable/DSL internet. have you done all your windows updates? Yes.Except for three optional ones. I'm confused about resetting the router. That would be on the main computer. Will this help my laptop internet connection?

All kinds of things/areas can be coded to be linking to something else, or to make some javascript run, whatever. I had that happen one time . . . I can't remember if it was the page coding - probably was - or a browser glitch. Was it my graphics driver out of whack ? I can't remember. It was really annoying as I had to guess where to click. When you say you enlarge everything, you mean you zoom the whole page ? If so, does it happen when not zoomed ? That should be telling. And does it happen on most sites, on balance ? Or just Netflix. As mentioned you could try a couple different browsers, e.g. IE or Chrome and see if you get the same problem - just to track down the source of the problem. Also zoom them as with Firefox, see if the same thing happens.
