server problem?? taking forever to login

When I have to Log in (cuz save on this computer doesn't work ^$&@*(^%), it takes forever to connect to devi.ivillage.com. Well... at least a minute. that's like forever in cyberspace.

If I keep the browser open, the login sticks, but otherwise every instance of a browser has to login again. This "Connecting to..." waiting has been going on for a couple of days at least.

It sounds like your browser is set to delete cookies each time it closes...which is a simple fix if that is what is wrong.

If you are still having problems with it taking forever to connect, you might try posting over at Computer Help to see if others are having a similar problem. This forum gets little traffic compared to CH.

Do you know if your browser is set to empty cache each time it closes. I 'think' that could maybe affect log-in time somewhat.

I have CCleaner done that before I try the new password, cookie setting med/high,talked with my dsl server yesterday everything ok with them, after talking with the webpage info they told me to make a list of the books I want and they will take the order over the phone its just I would like to know what went wrong at their end and they cannot tell me.

There are a lot of reasons it can take that long, a strict firewall or at the time of your call, there was a heavy volume in the email queue, or the server could have just been having issues. Another scenario could be that the chat person could have been on an entirely different server or email queue. I've dealt with the Faucet direct and Lighting Direct stores a couple of times and their service has always been stellar.
