Spam Post Notifications Suggestion

Pooh Bear

Anytime someone starts a thread they have the option to

have replies emailed to them. Works great for seldom visited forums.

My idea:

Somewhere near the reply entry box, add a checkmark box.

Check the box to flag it as spam. In the reply simply type

"spam post" and submit it. Since the box was checked to

flag it as spam, an email is automatically submitted to

Garden Web staff notifying them of a spam post and the address.

This would be a lot easier than going to the Contact Us page

and sending a notification with the address.

It would be instant and simple for everyone to watch for spam.

Right now a lot of people don't even know about the contact us

page and the method to report spam posts.

At least add a link to the top of every page to the Contact Us form.

And to keep people from abusing this new service you could set

up a new email account and just block abusers member names.

They would have to go thru the regular Contact Us form.

I think it is a good idea.

Thanks for listening to a silly old bear.
