Now taking sign-ups for Fat Robin Round 3

Hello,

I am now taking sign-ups for Fat Round Robin 3. This Robin will have seeds from Round 1 and 2 that are in flight right now. By the time that the Two robins that are in flight get back to me I will already have a list of people ready for the Robin 3.

Guidelines

1. No more then 4 pks of one kind can be used.

2. No old seeds please

3. no seeds that are molding.

4. Make sure you replace seeds that you taking out of the Round Robin.

5. Label each seed pack

Plant name:

Sun/Shade:

Hardyness if you know it

Your GW username

With the seeds are from your garden/Commercial/trade

6. Please make sure that all seed packets are sealed good so that the seeds don't come out of the packets.

7. Make sure that each player gives me there mailing address, email address, and phone number.

8. Please make sure that you are watching for the Round Robin. When it is near your time to receive that Round Robin that you let the group know

9. Make sure that if you had received the round Robin that you tell the group.

There will be a tracking number on the Round Robin

The box came back today- I LOVE all the varieties in the box! I did a quick count and there were 30 varieties! Mostly all of them have a few leaves! Every one of them traveled well and look great! Thanks to all of you- that participated! I'll post tomorrow the list of what I received. It's been such a long day-- and I'm exhausted! A few minutes ago a few birds were screaming by my window, I went out there with a flashlight and found a baby bird. I just picked up a basket of petunias so picked up the baby robin- placed him in the center of the basket- hung him In the tree by the mom- and now she's happy. It's a myth about handling a baby bird, birds have no scense of smell, so will continue taking care of the baby even after handling. I'll post more tomorrow and list all the box contents! Jennifer-just a thought.... You could keep taking sign ups & see how long we can keep the bird in flight for! Maybe til 1st day of spring? You couldn't possible put all the DC's in the box but just have to state that they MUST post dc's as they ship.... Might actually be less work for you that way. You would however have to keep updating the flight path as people sign up & email addresses to us instead of being in the box.

IDK- could be a nightmare but also really fun to see how long it stays in flight!

You're the hostess-not meaning to step on your toes! Just offering up a fun version of round robin.... Entirely up to you!!! You seem VERY organized so I'm sure you could figure out a way to make it work!! But ENTIRELY your decision! Just a thought I had.....

Dcj24 i added u to fat robin. Yes i am going to keep signing people up and see how many players we can get and what i will do is have the robin come back to me a few times that way i can check on the robin but that is only if we have a big list. Also what each player can do is look on each haves and want tradea and email with has and wants and then the seeds can be added in the robin with the players name on them.

Once I get both robins back I will let everyone know what the flight pattern is for this Robin and I am hoping I will be able to start it soon. I think this one is going to be a very big one. I am also enjoying doing this.

I have a question.. how long are seeds good for? If the box goes around all spring/summer will the seeds from '10 be ok to plant the following spring/wintersowing in '12?

I'm never sure of a seeds shelf/sowing life. Also, I've heard that many keep daylily seeds in the fridge?

Deb,Ive sown seeds that have been 2 or 3 years old and still got good germination.I keep all my seeds in the fridge.Some seeds need to be sown when they are fresh,but others will keep for a while.Hope this helps.

The seeds should be fine with only a very few exceptions and I won't be using them until 2012 anyway but I am getting a bit concerned that this will become too large to manage.
If it gets much bigger I may opt out...but that is just me.

Just thinking about joining but I was wondering if you had any idea how much it would cost to send the package on? The small robin was almost seven dollars. Any idea?

I started thinking about the cost too-- we need to keep it in a flat rate box, or it's going to cost a small fortune to ship. With both boxes combined, we are going to need a flat rate large right now. I know-- I had both the round robins last week. ;)

I would definately expect large flatrate prices, unless we go to first class (the box now is priority.)

It's going to be ONE fat little robin! That's going to travel for a very long time!

hello it is your host and i am sorry that i have not doing updates for those of u that said that u want to join are on the list. i am going to put a close on this robin since we have alot signed up. i am going to make sure that the robin is in a large flat rate box. i am not able to post updates on the players since i am using my cell phone.
