Aeonium leaf propagation
Comments (37)I bought many varieties from UK also. Actually most came from Surreal succulents. From USA I buy from Face book, >succulent market place and several others. Just post there what You want. I know now most of the sellers and because I bought many times they are friends. The last aeoniums were sent to me by a lady called Bernice so I can ask her for you if you contact me on FB. I am the admin for a group called Garden and home Zambia. Look at my posts Neli Stoyanova. Try also some italian sites, They ship to UK>like gyromagi. Surreal does not have all varieties but they have great selection. I got my two different varieties of Mardi grass from USA....See Moremethod for leaf propagation between paper in ziploc bags.
Comments (15)The portion of the house that my plants are in is half underground. We run central heat at about 70F, but it stays cooler downstairs usually and that room in particular has all the vents closed. I'd say with big circulation fan blowing on them it's probably in the mid to high-60F range, probably closest to 67-68F during the warmer weather we've been laughingly calling 'winter'. I don't have a thermometer in that room but the living room registers a solid 68F most of the time. Might be a bit warmer considering the lights -- they are LEDs though and do not give off a lot. Probably just got lucky. The rest of the pieces are doing nothing except a few that are possibly molding. Do not quite have the sterilization washes down. I'm a clumsy gal and while my brain understood the concept, my hands were not always as quick to obey, haha....See MoreWould leaf propagates be considered mericlones?
Comments (2)I would imagine so. It is the presence of meristem that enables the plantlet to form although plants like Gateria don't need meristem for broken leaves to root. I have also seen a Fred Ives leaf grow roots out of a damaged portion of the leaf although in those instances, perhaps there is meristem tissue within the leaf body...See MoreSucculent Leaf Propagation - Conflicting Watering Advice
Comments (9)Hi, Pls try not to be so concerned w/ watering. Remember, succulents can & do store water in their leaves, so they need it less frequently than you're thinking. Sounds like it's more your need to water than the plants. That's common for newish gardeners. Propagations like this tend to do best when almost ignored; overwatered or fussed over can contribute to their failure. Many of us root w/ benign neglect, just leaving some leaves lying around casually, not even in mix & they'll root on their own as mentioned above. Spraying succulents is not advised, getting their leaves wet can damage & worse, cause rot to the leaves. Pls try posting your pix again now since you'll be using the Comments. Curious to see which succulents you're trying to grow, not all will grow new plants from leaves, but many do,...See Morelainielady
