really need to find cuttings of Astrid Lindgren. I'm willing to trade anything from my list for rooted or unrooted cuttings.

Sorry no one answered this. Look on HMF and see who is growing it and maybe someone there will send you cuttings.

Tantau doesn't have an agent in N America, according to the owners of Palatine when I inquired last year. This is why we can't get all their newer beautiful roses, though some have been "poached", as I put it, perhaps because Tantau didn't patent certain roses soon enough. This seems to be what happened with Blue Bayou, a Kordes rose. You can still purchase Ascot and Augusta Luise, but Astrid seems to have disappeared from the general market, just like Blue Bayou. Thanks, but Forest Farm is dead to me. They've sent me too many mislabeled species roses. I have a new objective for species roses: they should be true to type and, ideally, seed grown so that if we buy two plants, they won't be clones. I'm sick of species selections grown as clones. With unrelated seedlings, if we carefully hybridize the two plants, we can actually produce seedlings showing a bit of the diversity of the species. I've love to have a garden full of species that aren't clones. OP species seedlings are always a crapshoot, and OP seedlings of a solitary diploid species rose are virtually assured to be hybrids because so many diploid are self-incompatible.

If you're new to roses you would do better to purchase a healthy plant from a local nursery than try and root cuttings to start out with. It takes time and practice to get them to root and a lot of care and patience to get them to grow into a mature plant. Start with an already healthy mature plant and learn how to take care of it before you try propagating them.

I have Astrid Lindgren and would be happy to provide cuttings next time I prune. I’m in central Ohio, zone 6a and Astrid Lindgren is a favorite!

Annie, sure if you are still active on here. I saw that you got your Astrid in Maine on another post .I would love cuttings or could even possibly pay you to root some. I live in Maine and have been looking for Astrid but I can only find her available from another country which obviously doesn't work. I hope you see this, I tried to message you but it wasn't working.
