Cassie, Thank you so much for the Valentine card. What a nice thing to do. I had to stay home from work today sick. Have got a nasty cold so your card cheered me up. You do run a good robin, one of the nicest that I have seen so far.

Debbie, love the picture. It does make spring seem closer to see flowers blooming. I am waiting for the calla lily I got for Christmas to bloom and I think that it is getting close. I do have some crocus blooming out in the yard. I just love when things start springing up.

Last but not least. Secret pal. I didn't mention the plant stakes that you sent in my last post. I used them (along with the gardening gloves from a previous package) in my winter sowing project. I really like them. Thanks you so much.

Went out and discovered an envelope from my Secret Pal in the mail box after logging-off yesterday. Okay, how did you find a Valentine's card that has "to my Secret Pal" already printed on it? it's perfect! Thankyou, it is now on the kitchen shelf where I can enjoy it passing by. Thank you also for little Wallie - didn't have a letter opener :-( and I like him very much. [for everyone who is thinking huh? wallie is a chinese letter opener with a handle shaped and handpainted like a walrus/seal] And some nice seeds, things I didn't have and am looking forward to trying. Thank you Secret Pal, you always choose exactly the right thing, and you always brighten up my day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Just wanted to let my secret pal know that the beautiful vase you gave me if finally being put to work. DH got me a single red rose for Valentine's Day so I have something to put in it YEAHHH! Thank you again for all the great things you send me. I am very lucky!

What a great day!! I got my Secret Pal, Happy Valentine gift today. A cute Valentine cup filled with candy, YUM YUM and a cute heart candle. And that's not all, I also got a Birthday box from my Secret Pal. It had, a sweet card with a kitty smelling a flower, a butterfly stepping stone, a "welcome and good bye" rock, and three plants that I love. She knows more about what I really like than my real sister, I guess we can prick our finger on a rose (which I do often in the garden) and become blood sisters. She really did great. Thanks so much !!!!!!!

I received a box from my secret pal this weekend.
It had all kinds of tasty goodies in itÂwasabi peanuts (boy, will those clear your sinuses!) and some chocolate covered, jelly filled cookiesÂummm, very goodÂ.

My SP also sent lots of neat, exotic veggie seeds. There will be a special place in my garden for some of these tasty veggies this year.

I also received a "grow a prince"Âhe's growing right now, in my bathroom! My cat seems to think he's some kind of pickled cat toy and keeps trying to fish him out of the jar! Really cute. I'd heard about them but never thought I'd get oneÂ.lucky me!

And my secret pal sent the cutest vintage card with dogs driving a carÂ.I love it.

Thank you Secret Pal for some great goodiesÂI feel so special!

I have been trying to get over this nasty cold I have caught. It has pretty well knocked me flat but I think it is on the way out now. The doctors office was stuffed full when I went in so I suppose everyone is passing it along to everyone else. Not a very romantic way to spend Valentines day, in bed with a red nose and a box of kleenex clutched close. I guess we will just have to celebrate later.

Awwww Rainbow, Sorry you've been sick. Alot of it going around. I'm coming down with a cold started today, hubby too..hope it stops at that, and doesn't go into that flu. Were suppose to have a Artic blast, hitting tonight, all the way thru tomorrow night. Back in the 20's again, and some places getting up to a foot of snow..ick! So, winters not done with us yet.. I can't wait till Spring!

I hope you feel better soon. I had that same stuff going around earlier. It knocked me down flat too.

The health dept. spokeslady was on our local news & said it was making it's rounds through OK. Many people think they have the flu, since it's so bad. So far not many have tested positive flu though.

Rainbow I am sorry you are having such a hard time getting over your cold. I hope you will be feeling better soon. Hang in there!

I thought I sent you a message. Shaking my head I guess I didn't a lot of things going on in my world... most not so good... anyway. Your pal received your package.. however because it had a lot of valentine items in it she thought it was for the Valentine swap and posted there. Very late this evening when I return home I will send you her email and copy her post from there. So it made it safely to its home and was enjoyed.

Hi everybody! Well we've had a bad snow storm for the last two days..Some got between 6-12 inches. Hubby's out plowing the driveway right now..I'm still trying to think "Spring"..but, sometimes it's hard. I did get some Spring cleaning done today, and some more winter planting..lol.. I haven't been on-line for a few days...Spring planting is already underway here in N C Tx, so I've been pretty BUSY.

First of all, thanks bunches for the Valentine, Cassie. Getting something in the mail--addressed to ME--is really uplifting. Until I joined this forum, all I ever got in the mail was bills or credit card offers...so thanks for the thoughtfulness, Cassie...

Then, to my SP, thanks for your thoughtfulness, too! Even though you'd already sent me a wonderful box for February, I received the Valentine card you sent me earlier this week. Like I said before, I regret that I haven't been able to find the time to get on-line. My apologies. The seed envelopes that you included are beautifully original. Thank you so much!

Finally, I sent a package to MY secret pal yesterday. I'm still a little late getting it out, but at least I'm not as late as I was last month...

Well, of course, gotta go...I have some spinach and broccoli transplants that I need to get in the ground before it starts raining.

Thanks for the well wishes. I am feeling much better. I just hate being sick. And I missed a nice patch of weather we were having here. Today looks like it is going to be very nice though so I guess I might be able to get out a little and check everything. I have crocus blooming and it looks like my early daffodils might be getting ready to bloom soon. We have snow predicted for the end of the week so I hope the cold doesn't get them.
I live on a wooded acreage and a few years ago I decided to thin out some of the scraggly underbrush. Winter is the perfect time to do it, no weeds, bugs or poison ivy to contend with. A few more nice weekends like this one and I might have another little area cleared.
What is everyone else up to?

I enjoyed this warm spell we had & took advantage of it to do some cleaning out of my flower beds. I had a long sleeve shirt sat. & had change into a t-shirt because that sun was so warm.

Took a little look around and I have violets blooming, and iris rectilia and some small little daffodils. Lovely, lovely, lovely

Well have'nt been here for a few days, so thought I'd drop in and say "Hi" and see how everybody's doing? Another dark wintery day up here, snow flurry's this afternoon. Hey Cassie, what ever happened to the idea of doing the Valentines receipe book. Are we still doing that? I know that I could use some new receipes. I like to make cakes for the people I work with on their birthdays and I have about used up all the receipes that I have.

dsterizik... package has been mailed to your from a secret pal so should be there soon!!! Smile... and Rainbow... cookbook is still going on. I posted a little earlier that it would be late this month before coming together because I was still getting recipes. Will get it put together in the next week or so and get it out to everyone.

I got a beautiful card from my secret pal today. It made the gas bill that arrived with it easier to take. The card reminded me of the coming spring with flowers popping up & the gas bill going down. LOL

Oh my goodness!! I got my package today from my Secret Pal, and was it ever worth the wait! I have got a very "Special" Secret Pal! I absolutely "LOVED" everything! I got: Homemade Peach Preserves- made with the peaches from her own trees, all natural- a whole pint jar! Also, a wicker basket, filled with beautiful Spring Bouquet of flowers- i have sitting on computer to remind me "Spring" is coming. A bag with seeds- Gaillarda "Sundance", Jewels of Opar, Inpatients Balsamina. Also, a Gorgeous Wind Ribbon, I wish you could see this..it's so Beautiful! And, she spoiled me, with a Beautiful Fabric covered Heart Box, and it's large, filled with "Homemade candy"- Marzipan Hearts, Peanut Butter Cups, Toffee, Hard Candy..It is totally awesome! Yum Yum! Secret Pal, Thank You! Thank You! You are a "Sweetie"!!! "BIG HUGS"..You totally made my day!

Well I got my secret pal box today...I think it actually came yesterday or even Wednesday...Daughter brought in the mail and took it to her room and at midnight she brought it to me and said she forgot about it...never the less it was great. I was getting worried that another month would go by without anything but I was wrong...It had a filing box which I have tought about getting several times and just never did so now I have one YEAH!!!! It had some yummy chocolates in it and a neat little pocket book on flowers from the Audubon Society, plastic plant markers(always needed), A cute little face made out of clay to hang up out side, and some seeds I had been wanting...Thanks You, Thank You Thank You Secret Pal for making it all worth waiting for.

Debi and Debbie, I have planted seeds outdoors also. I got behind in the winter sowing in containers so I figured I would just try direct sowing on some of them and see how they do. I have noticed larkspur and love in a mist coming up from last seasons seeds so hopefully some of these I am putting out will take off too.

My daffodils are starting to open up all over so it is starting to look like spring here. Also the Bradford pear tree is budding out. Of course Oklahoma has a lot of last minute freezes so I am hoping that the cold doesn't get everything.

I plan to finish off the last of the winter sowing I was going to do and then I guess I will start planting seeds indoors on window seals. I really do like starting the little plants myself. I know that it doesn't really have a lot to do with me, but I feel just like a proud parent whenever my seedlings turn into plants and bloom.

Mellen will get you the information possibly tomorrow. I had a death in my family and have been gone a few days and just returned home tonight. Catching up... give me a couple of days

Thanks to everyone for their thoughts... this is our second loss in one month. Both of my uncles. One passed away on Jan. 21st and the other one on Thursday evening. He has been in and out of a coma since before Valentine's day from a second stroke so I guess this was a blessing

It sounds as if you are in the same weather zone as we are here. It sure is an early spring but I for one am ready for it. Everytime I go outside I notice a new little green thing coming out of the ground. It should be a beautiful garden this year.
