Wanna trade pot ghettos?

I rooted a bunch of roses in the summer of 05 and have lots left over which were multiples. I'd like to trade for other roses that are already rooted and ready to put in the ground. Maybe some of you are like me and have pot ghettos out in your yard ... maybe not. Anyway, here is the list of what I have:

I would love to have a Madam Lombard..not sure what I have to trade..it has been so cold...I am afraid I have lost some things. Are you planning to come to my house, next month for the lunch and work party> Please say yes. I would love to see you and I bet there will be things to trade then.

Sorry, but I can't make it to your party. Its so far away and I've got so much going on, trying to lay ceramic tile in my house and putting in the new rose garden. The roses are planted, but I have to lay down layers of boxes, compost, and mulch to make the beds. I really don't know how it's going to be done b4 spring gets here!
I thought that I got Mme Lombard from you! Maybe not ... but who else? I bet you recognize some of those from the cuttings we took that day I visited.
One day we've got to have a party at my house so everyone can see the "little bits" of their own garden growing in another location! I'm only a little ways down the road from Rozanna's.

Ingrid, Coquette des Blanches is a great rose, on the smaller side and blooms it head off, even in roasting heat and sweet, sweet fragrance. Mine doesn't look so hot, even after 3 years. I rec'd it as a 2-gallon, brutally hacked for shipping (is why I prefer bands). I really don't think this particular one is ever going to recover and have propagated another to take its place. SdlM, you just can't have too many!!! I want Cels too, waiting to buy from a great ebay vendor that offers it each year. My Clair Matin is a very slow grower, but has done well, even in the heat. 91 roses is a lot. It's pretty amazing how fast they populate. I don't really know how many I have now. Are you really supposed to count the ones in the ghetto? I will have to try and find that little formula for calculating just how many roses one has... I too am in the process of relocating a bunch to the ghetto. Real estate is limited at my camp and I give them 3 years to perform. They really have to get to looking like real dogs before I move them. I wish I could have known then what I know now when I started the garden. Trees I planted are progressively giving more shade, not always a good thing. And if you plant the roses closely, you almost have to plant all at the same time, else the larger will not allow growth of the smaller. To me, it is very sad to see a rose that performed well in the past go bad and have to be moved. I look back at the photos and see what it once was. Lux, I have the highest hopes for all these teas that are moving into my garden. The teas I currently have are excellent performers in my garden.

You guys are so funny! It does my heart good that there are people who covet roses even more than I do. I have no pot ghetto for the simple reason that I (that would be my husband) plant everything immediately because I have no patience and want those puppies in the ground NOW. That forces me to continually eliminate roses that don't meet my persnickety standards and it does get a bit expensive (although fortunately not guilt-producing because I've gotten beyond that). Drippy, I'm betting you will be fine with the pots above ground because of this. Last fall I had about 10 WS containers that never got planted out before winter. Unusual for me, but being only a few months post op from spinal surgery, it was just impossible to get any more plants in the ground. I just could't bring myself to ask everyone that had helped me with my gardens all spring and summer to do any more than help clean up. Anyway, they where all perennials, columbines, foxglove, some coreopsis, and a few others. They where still in their WS containers too, cream cheese tubs, sour cream tubs and a container that cut up fruit had come in. I just put them on the inside of my chain link fenced yard area and left them. It was OK, hardy little things, WS, we'll see how really hardy you are, won't we. Gave them NO protection of any kind. OK, we had a warm fall, warm winter too. Even in the 70's in January, but just as one would expect things to warm up, I was burried in snow, 2 feet of the stuff and we had snow late into spring too. Low and behold, when it finally warmed up, the columbine where fine in their WS containers, and before I knew it they where full of buds and flowering in those containers. The coreopsis did the same thing. The foxglove where fine, gave most of the seedlings away at a spring swap and they bloomed this year for everyone. Low and behold, I just found a couple of those plants still sitting in those WS containers and I can't get them in the ground now either. More back problems. Just checking in to see how things are going a month following Irene... We were without power for 6 days. Dee, I heard and understood your frustration. After a while, cooking on the gas grille (we were lucky to have it) gets old, just as I dared to think that, we ran out of gas and there was NO grille! The no flushing/no shower was the worst! All candles were gone by the end of 6 days, not to mention any food that had been in the freezer. Lost the top half of several 60' trees, but no damage to our property. Neighbors just down the road had a three trunk tree go through their house, taking out their bathroom. I initially posted to say that I have never had such profuse blooms of morning glories or perennial (branching) Maximillian Sunflowers as we had this year about 7-10 days after Irene came through. Also, I usually see some color on our trees by October 1st... a few isolated leaves is all as of today. Dee and Carl, I wish you good things after all you went through. Susan

You probably did get Madam L. from me. I had one, planted in front, it was glorious! and the darn city, made me get rid of it..(I could have kept it there, if I agreed to keep it at 2 feet) I would like to plant another one, this time in the back yard, so no one can complain, and having a clone of mine will make it so much better...
Sorry you can not make it, to the party, if Rozanna were here, you could ride with her...

You have several roses I would love to have: Smith's Parish, Blumenschmidt, Isabella Sprunt, Spice, Renae, or Sally Holmes. I have a nice sized Mlle Franziska Kruger, and a BR Cant. If you are interested, let me know what you have left.

What do you have rooted? I am trying to stick to the list of roses that I "HAVE to have" (list above) but maybe you've got something else. If you would rather, you could send me postage and I'd mail it to you ... after all, the cutting probably came from your yard.

I love seeing you all having fun trading! Carrie, you and I have a very similar wish list!

I don't have anything rooted to share right now, but if you would like some cuttings, I am happy to mail them to you after the Valentines Day Pruning Frenzy at my place. (I think I am now up to about 300 roses here, cannot keep count. It's going to be one tough weekend of pruning in mid February here!)

Untagged - too many to count - I have no idea what these are. Some of the tags were lost, some never had tags to begin with.

If you have any roses that aren't on the list of ones "I want", email me, and we'll see what we can do for a trade. I've realized that I REALLY want to get rid of all of these multiples, and would trade for other roses that I don't have.
