Rainy days and Mondays always get me down ...
Comments (9)Glad ya'll liked the pics. â¢Posted by puglvr1 Wow Paul...gorgeous color! How'd you do it? light on watering, very low temps, no fertilizer...bribery? I don't do anything special, Nancy. It has been outside this whole time starting around the end of May. You can't tell from the photo, but there is some moss growing on the soil so it hasn't been that dry. That and we've had a fair amount of rain lately. Temps, however, have been bouncing up and down from day to day, week to week. Night temps in the 40s have been fairly common some weeks recently. Fertilizer wise, I honestly don't know when it last got any. I'm really bad about forgetting to fertilize my plants. So just what does the trick ... â¢Posted by greenman28 :-) Sweet Jade, Paul! Nancy, looks to be a Compact, which develop very nice color. I have absolutely no idea if this one is actually a compact or not, Josh. I honestly don't even remember with any certainty from whence it came .... though I think it was a cutting off Howard's huge jade. It doesn't put on a lot of growth for me (which is fine by me). But considering that it is in a small bonsai pot, and that I don't fertilize much if at all, and the fact that I pretty much leave it to fend for itself over the summer ... it really isn't too surprising that growth is fairly minimal for me....See MoreOne new one for rainy Monday
Comments (8)Mantis and Debra, the first few blooms of Born to Run were just a mess. Since my tags are in total disarray and/or illegible, I didn't even know what daylily it was. Even now, the scapes are quite short and the plant is sort of feeble. BORN TO RUN is limping in my garden too. What a shame because I love the shape and color of this flower. Comments (9)Oh, that plant with the heart-shaped leaves, is it a Crassula ovata?? How interesting. I agree with you, Christopher, that you can find lots of interest when you have a few different jades. I wonder if you will be able to detach those leaves later and start a new clone. The last plant, is that the cutting you took off which dried up so speedily? It has some green, so that would be surprising....See MoreRainy Days and Mondays again
Comments (14)Oooh, Zipporah is lovely! And Teddy Bear Picnic is adorable. Is it a reverse bitone? It's interesting how it takes a few years for daylilies to settle into their "pace" in the North...usually I end up with ML/L/VL that disappointingly turn EM/M though...adding Zipporah to my list. I would love some sort of giant AHS list by ZONE of what is reliably L/VL in different climates...who's with me? Cheers! ~Anika...See Morethe_dark_lady
