Here's the response that just came back: "The stocks of Thai Thai are finally coming along well. Having said that, we have not yet decided whether to offer it for 2015 or to wait one extra year for the mid- size bulbs to reach a larger size. We will make this decision next month once we can see how the growth on the bulbs is progressing." So, we won't see it for another 1-2 years. K

I love the title/theme/idea of this thread. That is exactly what I think as I walk through the garden. One of my new roses bloomed for the first time this year, beautiful bush shape and lovely fragrant blooms . . . BUT it is not the rose I ordered. I wanted a dark colour for my dark garden and this is light pink. The verbascum nigra that I wintersowed and I thought died last year is absolutely huge, healthy and just starting to open it's flowers . . . BUT it looks like it is going to bloom white which means it is not nigra but another variety. The white Liatris that I thought died last year right after I planted it seems to have made a comeback . . . BUT the beautiful pink lupines that I posted photos of have been attacked by the worst aphid infestation I've ever seen in the space of several days and look like they might not make it through the rest of summer. The sunflowers that reseeded and that I planted look straight and healthy . . . BUT most of the ones that were supposed to be dwarf or mini clearly aren't and are almost as tall as I am right near the front of the border! The daylilies look like they're starting to form flower buds which is very exciting, as I love the daylily show . . . BUT I'm disappointed by my lillies which are barely 6 inches tall right now. Everyone else has tall lillies that are either beginning to bloom or putting up flower buds at least. Wondering why mine are so behind the times :) And we've gotten huge amounts of rain so far, which the roses seem to revel in . . . BUT I think it has drowned about half of my small tomato and pepper plants that I start indoors and planted out at the end of May. They were still fairly small when our "rainy season" began, and at least half have succumbed.

Sorry, I missed a bunch of posts here. This "temporary" flooring will be used for the next 1.5 yr or so until I undertake the kitchen remodel. There will be NO salvaging the rug. It's disgusting and while I didnt intentionally spill the paint-- lukki is right that it is a happy accident! I also nix sheet vinyl. I hate it.. would rather do anything else but. My long term vision for the kitchen is only partially worked through so it's hard to say what I envision for the long term. IF I can bring in flooring that will last through a reno, then I'll be more likely to take the time to choose carefully. As I've said a few times, I love the look and features of cork. However, I think I could also be happy with some other options. I am definitely intrigued by the poly plywood suggestion-- and had already hoped to paint the subfloor (until I discovered that it will require a great deal of work). I could move forward with that as soon as the painters are through. I don't mind spending some money on the flooring-- it's worth it to be rid of the carpet. What I don't have much to spare is time... so all of the quick and easy options are high on the list. Bee.. that's funny! I said that very same thing to my bf (who thought Ollie's was a hoot.) Thank you all-- love the range of ideas and suggestions! I just need to spend some time mulling them over now.

Kaismom--I've had plenty of meltdowns in the past 18 months of this, but I've been fine lately. We almost did this when I was pregnant with our second, but I convinced DH to wait until after she was born to start. Briana--I feel for you living with someone else. We've been so fortunate enough to have a decently sized house to live in for the past 8 months so we didn't have to squeeze down too much. Yes, I think we're realistically about a month behind. I'd like to say less, but I'm tired of under estimating! I would have said 3 weeks until today when I found out that drywall would take about 8-10 working days. For some reason I thought it would only take a week. Beagles--I hadn't thought about the stress of living with the kids in a kitchenless house with construction still ongoing. Maybe we'd better plan for a 3-month apartment lease and stay there until the house is further along. Celine--Yeah, some stuff is a bummer. The progress feels good though. I can't wait to see your kitchen done! Hurry! Patriot--I'm sure I'll be happy with it too. I appreciate your help in my path to buying it.
