Losing time and daylight need advice

I have all my pepper plants in pots on my deck which faces north. with the sun getting lower and lower they are getting sun in the early am and evening. Even a month ago they were getting plenty of afternoon sun. I am just now starting to get some ripening on some of my plants and nothing on some others. We are also supposed to cool way down (no frost or freezes but highs in the low 60s and lows in the low 40s) The front of my condo faces south and my front porch is pretty inclosed and gets the warmest afternoon sun. it also gets 15-20 degrees warmer than the actual air temperature. Shoud I see a quickening in the ripening process by putting them in this much warmer envirenment? I'd hate to run out of growing season with a bunch of unripe peppers.

thanx,

Andy
