I love the profuse blooms and light yellow of my moonbeam, but my plants always lay over. My neighbors and those in your pictures are all upright. I had a plant in Seattle that was in dry sandy soil and received little to no care. It grew just fine but always fell over onto the sidewalk even though the foliage was brisk and full. We live near the mountains now, where the rain is heavy and saturating at times and frosts can be heavy well into May. The plant is in sandy loam and, like the first one, in hot afternoon sun. It receives more water and care than the other, but I can see no difference in performance. It too blooms beautifully but lays down on the sidewalk. I don't like the appearance when flowers are staked. What's your secret??

Nana, I've found that the more decorative formed minis bloom almost constantly for me. The ones that have more exhibition form bloom in cycles like the HTs. But they do have a quicker cycle. My Softee is never without blooms on it! Flaura, my Folklore just bloomed out but I see it already has new growth coming on it! I agree the mauve ones are slower to repeat and don't care for the heat much. I only have Angel Face and Paradise but neither of them is doing anything right now. If they didn't have leaves I'd swear they were dormant. I agree, Lyn, the heavy, thick petaled roses do much better in high heat. Veterans' Honor and Red Intuition didn't have a single dark spot or crisp edge on them in this heat. But I was bery surprised to see that both Julia Child and Golden Celebration have done well too. Yes, the blooms opened quickly but the petals still looked fresh and not wilted or shriveled like Elle's did. I also agree with giving them a shower!!! I've been doing that for several years now and have found that they do better in a number of ways. I have less insect problems and diseases and the roses look fresher and healthier all the time. Roses do absorb moisture through their leaves and even the canes so a good shower does help them maintain their cool. I know it does for me! I've been using the sprinklers to water the street bed because I don't have soakers for it yet and I always run through it...you know...to adjust it, lol! We just got electronic water metering in our city. They sent me a notice that I had unusually high water usage and to check for dripping faucets or pipe leaks. Yeah, it's leaking all right. All over my roses!

Heritage, Pretty Jessica, Lady of Shallot, Wollerton Old Hall, and Jude the Obscure are my Austin's that are doing well (growing, blooming and disease resistant although WOH and Jude do get a little BS in my no spray garden) in partial shade although I am sure they would bloom more with more sun. I do think the blooms of these paler of these roses might fry in summer if they actually had more sun. I am also going to get Teasing Georgia for its supposed shade tolerance and did consider Grace for the same reason. I have heard on this forum that Olivia Rose and Ambridge rose do well in part shade.

My best for shade is 'mermaid'. I know 'new dawn' does ok in shade, too. They both rebloom sporadically- but are hardly in bloom all the time. My first thought was i don't know of anything that's gonna bloom all season, work in aft shade, and be disease free, which is why i didn't post. Most of my roses are the old type that blooms once and that's it, but i do have a few that bloom again. My shade tends to be morning shade- so mine get hot afternoon sun. Morning sun is supposed to be better for roses, so maybe that is less of a factor than i first thought. 'Red cascade' might do ok, but i have mine in sun, so i'm not sure. It's probably the best rebloomer i have- it almost always has some bloom on it, and at times is solid with color. I'll be bringing some starts to the swap. All the roses i got that i didn't get from Betty i ordered from roses unlimited.
