All i have blooming right now is this one. I'm pretty sure it's a Scott Pratt. The weather has been high in the 80's lows in the 60's. Looks right for a cool weather inflow. It's the first time it bloomed, I just planted the cutting in mid June of this summer. I'm feeling pretty lucky about it.

Dewaine, maybe one of my new seedlings will turn out to be more spectacular than its parent. I can dream, can't I? Did Florida Colors develop that red themselves? I've never seen it elsewhere.

Your Scott Pratt is a beauty for sure juicygirl, was the cutting rooted at all when you planted it in June?

yes SSA is a FCN seedling. Now that you mention it, I don't remember anyone else selling it either. She's one of my favorite plumerias.

no roots at all. My hubby ordered about 10 cuttings from Hawaii for my bday... and that's all I got. My candy stripe bloomed about 3 months after planting and it was awesome! That one we planted the first week of May.

I lost both of my favorites in the big freeze of 2007 in California.

Pops, and three other NOIDS are ok. Angus #3 and Kimi Beauty are still too young. Thai one is nice but small. Teresa Wilder is an excellent red mix. I am waiting to see my Ngam Prom, Daeng Sayam, and mermaid gem. Bill

Well juicygirl, I'd say that you must be doing everything just right. I had a lot of losses when I first started. Especially with the reds. I've had a number of Scott Pratts die on me over the years, but I think I've got one that's going to be a survivor now.

I had a seedling of Japanese Lantern that had grown to about 9 feet high and dozens of branches die all the way down through the roots in the big freeze of January 2007. Luckily I had given a cutting to my cousin and he kept it indoors then returned it to me when warm weather returned.

You have a lot of real nice reds Bill. I really like my Wildfires, but it's rare that I get a decent picture of the flowers. They're so dark here in the SGV that any damage at all shows up like a sore thumb. I spray for insects on a regular basis, and other flowers show little sign of insect damage, but the Wildfire flowers are almost always showing little white spots that appear to be insect damage. Otherwise the flowers are really pretty.

Bill, that big red seedling is amazing with its beautiful petal shape. What a shame to lose it! Did you make "back-up copies" of it?

Dewaine, sheesh, I didn't think I could any more envious but I am. The Wildfire is fantastic. I ordered a rooted one last month, but the roots were pretty scanty. It started out great, leafing out after about ten days, but it's stalled and the stem is now a bit spongy and wrinkled. Still firm at the base and tips, just not growing any more. Our night temps have fallen into the 50's and 60's; I don't think it's happy with that. I keep reading how hard the reds are to root, and how cold-sensitive.

Jandey- I had three backups of big red and lost all of them. Was a tragic loss. Dewaine- your flowers are, as usual, outstanding. Bill

Ok...Here is my final vote!!!Bills Cerise Blooms...they are the pefect pink that I have every seen!!! I would do anything for a cutting like that..very pretty....Tops in my book!! LOL
