Hello All, I thought I would have a little fun and see what is on your wish list. Just reply with your favorite plumeria that is NOT in your possession yet (but hopefully, soon will be).

Mine is Cotton Candy (but I am waiting until I get a better survival rate on cuttings)

Ammarons Curly White or Sariah's Curly Pink but there are so many that I'd love to have. I'll have to go look up the ones that you and Bill listed, I've never heard of them.

Pam - I see you saw my comments on the rudbecka Rustic not-really-dwarf mix on the other thread. For folks who missed that, the 1/8 oz pack at Swallowtail (in their annual seeds section) contains about 3000-4000 seeds so that actually beats the prices on most of what they offer in their bulk section. The Swallowtail bulk section is always worth checking, but sometimes they also have wickedly huge seed packets at low prices in their regular section. Some of my faves there include: California poppies at 4500 seeds for $2.49 - $2.95 depending on type. Strawflowers, 5000 seeds for $2.49 Cosmos, 1300 seeds for $1.95 Foxgloves Excelsior hybrids at 20,000 seeds (yes, no typo) for $2.95 but currently out of stock. (But you could get 2500 seeds from ValueSeed.com for $0.99 if you need a bunch right now.) They've got some other bargains in there too but those are my favorites. Their xeranthemum and paper daisies have bargain packs but I wasn't impressed with the flowers or plants - especially when compared to their tall strawflower mix. That tall strawflower mix is a real winner. I didn't know they were as hardy as they were - my plants were green and flowering into the beginning of December here. In your area you might still have them blooming at Christmas. Another of my favorites is Helenium Autumanale - especially after seeing it as Bluestone's Perennial's cover flower in last year's catalog. I bought a pack from the bulk section at Swallowtail - 1000 seeds for just under $10. I got those in late May last year. The germinated fast (and with a very high germination rate), transplanted well, many bloomed the first year and I got a nice seed farm level of seed out of those. Helenium flowers are gorgeous with a lot of variety. They blow in the breeze in a super pretty way. I don't think it's possible to take a bad photo of them. I ended up hositing a photo group on Flickr just for helenium flowers because they are so beautiful. They are even super easy and fun to seed save from - seeds pop right off without fuss. AND they are long lived and perennial to zone 3. Oh, and they propagate easily by division so that once you have a favorite color you can divide it and make a garden full of clones if you like. I also think that they are likely to be a hot item for gardenweb seed and plant trading. Bill, that big red seedling is amazing with its beautiful petal shape. What a shame to lose it! Did you make "back-up copies" of it? Dewaine, sheesh, I didn't think I could any more envious but I am. The Wildfire is fantastic. I ordered a rooted one last month, but the roots were pretty scanty. It started out great, leafing out after about ten days, but it's stalled and the stem is now a bit spongy and wrinkled. Still firm at the base and tips, just not growing any more. Our night temps have fallen into the 50's and 60's; I don't think it's happy with that. I keep reading how hard the reds are to root, and how cold-sensitive.

Guess I'm just not watching as much TV anymore but I haven't seen many of these. Don't have a favorite at least that's been broadcast in recent history. 20+ years ago there were some really good commercials on TV and radio too for that matter but now it's mute or change channels. Least favorite: Political ads, that asinine St. Jude's commercial when mommy goes "I'M SCARED TOO!" (but at least it seems they pulled that - there's a different one now), any feminine "freshness" or the Viva Viagra commercials. (Elvis must be spinning in his grave... unless they gave him a Cialis when he died.) And I don't give a hoot about "Little" Jimmy's Johnson, sheesh. Even Terry Bradshaw wouldn't do that commercial. I want to say grow up but there'd be an unintended pun there. At least now there's a good reason for weight gain. Going to get snacks during commercials. Bring back the cigarette commercials. They were creative and entertaining at least. Frank Bartles and Ed Jaymes, we need you now more than ever though the Betty White & Abe Vigoda Snickers commercial is not bad.

I love the functional things that we changed in our "refresh" last year: a large single-bowl sink, wipeable tile backsplash, replacing light-sucking black appliances with light-reflective stainless, converting base cabinets to drawer bases with soft close slides, adding a light-reflective quartz countertop on the sink side & a warm cherry butcherblock countertop by the range, and replacing upper cabinets with open shelving for everyday dishes, Our kitchen had an existing seating area with built-in banquette, which we (and our cats) love, and use daily.

I just saw the picture of a Daisy Wilcox posted by Bill and it is by far my favorite. It is now my #1 must have Plumeria. I am new to plummies, (only about 2 years) and I have a few planted that I love but they are all normal sized. I must get one. - susana

I'd be happy with a kakua wilder, Penang Peach, or a Jeannie Moragne. Of course, I SAY, I'd be happy, but we all know the aweful truth...It never ends!

Oh my goodness, I just saw a "Fruit Salad" on Ebay that one could just die for. It would most certainly be on my next in line list. And of course the Ammarons Curly would most certainly be on the list. Bubble Gum sounds quite enjoyable too. I think the list could go on and on, and on.... But I tell ya, that Fruit Salad looks lovely!
And me too, waiting untill I know a bit more of what I am doing. At least untill next spring anyway.

I wanted a Princess Victoria but could never find a cutting or a plant, so I settled for a Marble Queen and a Kolika so I guess I would want a All Yellow plumeria.. I love the yellows...

I have a young fruit salad and I agree that it is really nice. Confetti is another with the same colors but has elongated petals and a great smell. mine are too young and have not flowered yet- next year. Bill

Hello,
I take it back I dont want an all yellow one I want either Orange one like the person said in her email or I want a JL Pink Pansy.... I will not get any more for this year.. but watch out next..LOL.. Already email the lady in Texas to see if she had the Pink one and if not well will start looking in Jan or Feb... 07 ... I really enjoy my plumerias and I love it here.. You all are all so nice.. friendly...

Boom- I have a Som Kalasin that I picked up as a cutting in spring and rooted it this summer. I bought it from Andy Zukowitz who owns Aloha Tropicals in the Oceanside area of Southern California. You might contact him and see if he will have any cuttings next spring or if he has any rooted ones. Bill

There are about 7 premium rooted plants up for auction by Sandy right now and one is a rooted Princess Victoria. I have all the plants being auctioned except Hurricane and they are all top level plants. Also I have always received outstanding plants from Sandy who is Jim Little's daughter in law. Bill

Thanks Bill, I emailed Andy and hope he has one for sale. I'm a native Thai and became a Plumeria fanatic here in the US. In Thai language "Som" means orange and "Kalasin" is a province in Thailand. So, getting one means a lot to me.

Thanks bill for the info... I went looking for this person on ebay and could not find... The person I buy from in Texas got all her plumerias from her father... I am now happy with the two plumerias that I have that look like the PV.plumeria so maybe next year...
Bill It is going into the 40's tonight around 45 or so is it alright if I leave my potted plumeria plants out?? no babies or cutting are out just the big ones... I also have an inflow on one will this die from the cooler weather? Thanks..

P.S. FYI, Lhung means yellow, Chompu means pink, and Kaw means white.

Susan- did you just click on the purple titles in the links at the bottom of the post I listed above. That should take you to either site. (Aloha or Sandy's auction). Also temps in the 40 could be a bit cold but maybe not. You might drag them under a cover or bring the flowering one inside for the night. It is hard to say what shuts down plumies. Each plant is unique. Some shut down quickly and others keep going late into the fall. I do not know a single answer that fits all situations. Bill

OH NO! after looking up all the different cultivars mentioned here I want them all.....I can't make up my mind which one I like the most.....guess I'll just have to get them all!!!
