Blistering heat and blazing colors

After a short break in the 90's last week we're back up to the 100's.

Here is what this NOID red looked like for me in blistering heat:



The center has gold smudges that glitter in the sun:



Gorgeous but small.

Here it is compared to a 3-1/2" NOID cream-colored bloom:



The week of Labor Day the temps dipped a bit and I got more rich oranges in the center:



It's so hard to capture the color, true red with no pink tones:



The NOID cream by itself, showing good size and the shape beginning to windmill after a few days indoors:



Here are two NOIDs showing very different foliage. One will definitely grow more compact than the other:



Finally, the second cattleya orchid opened up and they smell heavenly:



Forecast calls for rain maybe next week, but I've heard that too many times before. Wish us luck--we need it!
