Propogating impatiens right in the ground - how long till bloom?

Binky

I've heard of people taking cuttings of their impatiens and just sticking them into a shady spot in the garden, keeping them watered, and having lots of new plants. But the comments I found were from people in much warmer zones that I am. If I put cuttings in the garden in mid-May, when would the new cuttings actually bloom? Thanks in advance, especially from zone 5 folks:).
