Personally, I have enough snow. Went out today and shoveled all the side walk, cause I want the snow to melt in my yard/flower beds, instead of the moisture running down the street.

My street is still ice, curb to curb. Need to venture out of this neighborhood tomorrow, before I go stir crazy.

I hope we get a little thawing tomorrow since we are supposed to have a 35 degree SUNNY day. The problem is that it drops back to 17 tomorrow night. They forecast light snow for Wednesday for us.

We have to go into southern Kansas for a grave-side funeral tomorrow so I think I'll pull out the thermals. LOL

Our streets are still ice and I have to go to work in the morning. Not looking forward to it. I hope our next snow event isn't so traumatic!

No, I'm not ready for it! We were cloudy most of today so not much melting occured. Our road (Frankin Road in Norman) wasn't horrible yesterday, but I was glad DH was the one driving in his 4wheeldrive on it and not me in a Chevy Blazer!

Tigerdawn - I've got to go to work tomorrow too, and early. The sun isn't up at 7 and I've got to leave by then to be on time. My oldest daughter tells me that if you can make it to the highways and major streets, it's fine. Just local neighborhoods seem to be the problem.

Moni, I understand the feeling. Today I left our property for the first time since last Wednesday and it felt good. Of course, we went to the two most important stores in our area.....Tractor Supply Co. and Wal-Mart.

Our main roads are mostly completely clear, but side roads that are shaded still have quite a lot of ice.

Carol, we were 39 and Sunny today, but had dropped to 16 last night, so it was very cold and the snow/melted snow refroze quite a bit. Consequently, it was probably 11 a.m. or so before we saw really significant melting going on. Our place is just one big mix of mud and snow.

Tigerdawn, I think they are saying only a couple of inches at most. I don't know what the percentage the chance of precip is for the rest of y'all, but down here it is 20-40% depending on who you believe, so that's not real high odds. Last week we had a 90% chance and we got slammed by rain and snow and wind.

Late last week, they were saying snow on Tues.-Wed. and now they are saying Tues., then Wed. for some, then more again on Thursday. Let's hope they are wrong.

Paula, Y'all be careful on the roadways out there. I assume there's still going to be slick spots in some places. Here, wherever the road has a lot of shade, not much has melted yet.

The areas that could use the moisture don't seem as likely to have snow this week.

We are going to have a pretty warm day here tomorrow, so I think we'll have a lot more melting going on.

My street is looking pretty good, but my driveway, sidewalk, and yard are buried under a bunch of snow, and I doubt I will get it cleaned off soon.

Notwithstanding, I intend to get out tomorrow, but told DD to just pull as close to curb as she can, cuz I don't want her to get stuck in the driveway.

They forecast 1-2" of snow, but we are right on the upper edge of the predicted range. They are expecting snow in Del Rio, Texas, if you can imagine. Very weird snow pattern this year. Places that don't usually get snow, are getting it. We are not prepared for this amount of snow, but those places are even less prepared, if at all!

I'll be doing the deep snow dance today, so dance along with me......

Y'all, Our local forecaster upped our chance for rain turning to snow tomorrow from 40% to 50% and I'm not thrilled about that. He's pretty good too. He's been a meteorologist here in the Texoma region for about 26 years and he is right a whole lot more often than he is wrong. He's still saying 1-2" and nothing to get really excited about but that's not much comfort to the folks who still have trouble getting out of their driveways.

I'm more worried about his use of the terminology "rain turning to snow" because that means there is a chance we'll have freezing rain as it makes the transition and freezing rain coats and brings down power lines and trees. (As if I even have to state the obvious after all that so many of you have suffered through the last few years with ice storms.)

Susan, Poor Del Rio. I didn't look at a zone map but I'm guessing they are probably zone 8b or 9a. Their semi-arid and subtropical plants won't be crazy about the cold, but Del Rio gets so very little moisture that I bet everyone will be excited about that. It seems like they'll get a light snow maybe once or twice a decade there, so I suppose if anything falls, everyone will be thrilled to see it. (They can have our snow too if they want it!)

I guess the recurring colder-than-average temps and rain, sleet and snow are giving us just what El Nino is expected to bring, but that doesn't mean we have to like it. Let's hope El Nino gets bored with torturing our region and moves on.

Santa Claus brought all of us new hats and gloves for Christmas and I guess maybe he should have brought snow boots and sleds too. LOL

Our Wal-Mart had plenty of rain boots in the women's shoe section and it had the standard yard-and-barn-and-garden type muck boots(mine are navy blue and I've had them about 3 years) along the back wall where the men's work boots are located. I hope your Wal-Mart had some. If not, remember to look for muck boots at TSC!

Diane, You really don't want this. I know the kids would love it, but it is so, so, so, so, so, so messy. We still have oodles of patchy snow, mostly in still-shaded areas and also on eastward or northward-facing slopes. Every place else we have deep mud. Really deep mud. The kind of mud that sucks the gravel driveway under the surface and makes you say "where did the gravel go?" because all you see is sticky, oozey clayey mud. Until the mud dries up, we're better off with an icy driveway than a mudpit!

Tomorrow's snow is supposed to barrel its way towards us from SW Texas. Maybe it will keep heading a little more strongly east/northeast instead of strongly northeast and y'all will have some snow. There's a lesser chance of light snow on Thursday.

We still have drifts of up to about 2' in depth but the lawn is showing more and more grass and less and less snow.

Y'all can have all of the snow that Love County is scheduled to get....we've already exceeded our quota for the winter season and don't want any more.
