where do I get cheap 5 gallon pails?
Comments (22)I just have to thank you for this post and all the responders. I now have all the 5 gallon buckets I can stand from our local grocery store's bakery department. They had icing them. My sister didn't have the same luck, but it got her mind to thinking where to go other than the same grocery store. She's going to a local buffet restaurant to see what they tell her. Now, just so you know, it IS a lot of work to clean out the icing buckets... I had NO idea how disgustingly greasy that icing was! (LOL) BUT, I'm very grateful to be saving so much on the buckets, so no more complaining here... The lady is so nice to save a few every week for us. We just go in when we normally do our shopping and grab them on the way out. It's WONDERFUL! Blessings, Angela...See MoreWhere Can I Get Cheap Yet Quality Heirloom Seeds?
Comments (14)Fedco Seeds! www.fedcoseeds.com Fedco sells only non-GM seeds, and has loads of heirloom and open-pollinated varieties, and as they are a co-op and not a for-profit business, the prices are low. They also sell seeds you may have a hard time finding elsewhere, as endangered varieties. I'm lucky to live in Maine where Fedco is located, but they will ship anywhere, and you can browse the catalog online as well as do interactive searches online, and you can order online. Johnny's is good too, but Fedco is my first choice for non-GM, open-pollinated, heirloom, seed-saving seed, and for the promotion of the "self-sufficiency" and "local, not Biotech-giant" based lifestyle. Fedco does not do business with any biotech conglomerates, even when it means it cannot offer a popular variety....See MoreWhere to get free or REALLY cheap woodchips or bark?

Comments (6)Thanks for the advice, though I haven't had any luck with CL (Posted twice now). It would be easier if I were a bit handier andn could make one myself! There are a few groups that have meetings or the like to show you how to make one (I think that there was one at Whole Foods recently), but I might just have to make this a project when I have more time to tinker. I might try Freecycle again after the baby is born, not much time to drive around for pick ups!. ;-0 Thanks! Jen...See Moremiraje
