Very Sad, R.I.P Mantis

So, there is a post.. "How about this little alien?" posted by drewcarb about a Praying Mantis. I read it and fell in love with them. I wanted one of my own. I asked my friend how I could get a baby mantis, but he told me you'd have to buy them in bulk sorta and they need bigger plumeria to live on. (Mine are kinda small.) So I tried to forget about it...

Two days ago I went outside in the morning to check on my new blooms. And there, sitting on a California Sunset petal was a baby Mantis! Just for me. He was not even an inch long, and bright green.. adorable! I was so happy..

Its been two days now, he was there last night. I walked outside to see if he was still there, and in his place a HUGE black and white, spotted jumping spider. Mantis was nowhere to be found. He didn't stand a chance. :(

*sigh* Oh well. R.I.P Mantis.

Maybe he ran away? I hope so, I hate spiders so much because they dont only kill bad bugs, but they kill bugs more beneficial to plants then they are.

Good luck, maybe youll find another one, remeber they are artists of camouflage.

Please consider taking in a shelter cat or kitten. when you do, you save 2 lives, the cat you take and the one who takes its' place in the shelter. Do it in memory of your 3 babies.

Another one of the greats no longer here. The chemistry of all the gals on the Golden Girls was very good, but I think her character pulled it all together. I had read about her dementia problems years ago....so sad. Shirley

I've been listening to that show for years because my husband is a car person. I would even listen to it when I wasn't with him because they were so funny. Both were very sharp witted and quick with the comeback. So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I feel so bad for Ray, I'm guessing they were very close. Although with Alzheimer's, perhaps their relationship had changed. So sad.

AAAw we have some really cute ones here too they always look at me with the biggest eyes i love em,dont worry where there is one there is always others around nearby you have more for sure.Keep an eye out for it too ,i bet it got away, they are clever!

My baby Praying Mantis was MIA for about three days...I thought that he/she had a bad night!!! But then he/she suddenly reappeared!!! Who knows where they go...maybe your little PM just left for a few days like mine....keep looking because it is probably close by!!!
