Need to know what this pest is and how to get rid of it???

It's tiny, white and flies. It builds a nest and lays it's eggs in it, the nest is white and stringy. Almost like a web, or like angel hair for the christmas tree. Please help!!!

Oh yikes, and yuch. I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong but that looks like giant whitefly. I haven't seen it myself (and I hope it stays south of me :) )

It's some sort of grass. The exact type doesn't really matter. The Bermuda looks completely dormant in that picture. If so, the easiest way to kill the weeds would be to use glyphosate (brand name roundup). Glyphosate will only work on plants that are green. It's a nonselective weed killer, so it will kill anything green that it ends up on, but if the Bermuda is dormant, it won't take the glyphosate in and kill it.

What color are the flowers? Do they have a scent to them? It looks similar to something in the Locust family, HOWEVER, there are a few weed impersonators out there, too.

S...I am not positive about this...but it may not be anything at all. It is possible that that simply is a result of your avo getting torched from the sun. If you look closely at your healthy trees...you will notice a "flecking" on the exterior skin of branches. Some varieties (like Fuerte) can be more "flecked" than others. Perhaps, this just a physical reaction to heat/drying out.

Those are the hypha of a mold not the waxy trail pattern of the giant whitefly. Look closely at the photos in the ucdavis site.

Sorry petzold, but those strands are the hairy wax filaments of the giant whitefly. Leaves look like they develop beards!

I know, because I lived with the pest for several years prior to my exit from SoCal.
