So you think you are in the middle of the rain donut?

We all tend to think this at times because we remember our misses so easily, but look at the data attached.

This mesonet graphic has proven to be highly accurate the last few years that I have looked at it - much more so than the others I have looked at in the past.

I have family and friends in McClain county south of OKC that have received less than 5 inches of total rain since early June, and less than 12 inches for the entire year thus far. Now that is an extremely bad luck, especially when only 40 miles north and east have had three times that amount. I was shocked to hear their trees were dying and ponds almost empty that have never been dry before. There have been so many large storms in the OKC area this year that I would never have imagined how bad it was so close to OKC in the area where I grew up.

That is a real and long-term donut.
