Tennessee Pecan Squirrel with Brandy Peach Sauce Brandy Peach Sauce 2 fresh ripe peaches, peeled and sliced 1 tbsp. butter 2 tbsp. sugar 1 oz. brandy ü cup water 1 tsp. cornstarch Melt butter in a saucepan, add peaches and sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring a couple minutes. Add brandy and water and boil for 5 minutes. Dissolve cornstarch in a little cold water. Add to peaches, bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Take off the heat. Tennessee Pecan Squirrel 4 fresh squirrels, skinned and quartered Flour 1 egg mixed with ü cup milk ý cup ground pecans mixed with ü cup fresh bread crumbs Dust squirrel with flour and dip in egg wash and then pecans. Pour a little salad oil in fry pan turned on medium high heat. Add squirrel and cook on each side for about 6 minutes. Serve with peach sauce.

Well, so far a havahart raccoon trap has worked well for me. This is the first year I have had any significant rabbit damage and I only had to catch 2 to end the damage (thus far). Your mileage may vary. Of course, once trapped you have to either kill them or relocate them 5 miles or so away to prevent them from returning.

I don't know of anything that would be a sure thing except for to move the vines. Because of how much it rains, dew, humidity etc. in LA (is that where you live?) Anything you put on it is gonna get continuously washed off. ( I used to live there so I know, lol) Can you move your vines or pot them up and trellis them? If you could run another fence in front of the fence the vines are currently on (so there is a space between the two), and move the vines along the frontof the new one and keep them trained on the new fence it might help. C Cows are hungry critters lol. There is a pepper spray wax available but I bet the cows would still eat it. Not sure about that. ~SJN

I have a similar problem... I've tried cayenne pepper, which works but washes off and washes into the ground and has to be re-applied. Same with the spray-on product Liquid Fence. So now I'm using Bobbex rabbit repellent. Get it from the nursery, spray on a not-so-windy day. It smells terrible...worse than terrible... but when it dries it's only detectible to the critters. And it doesn't wash off from the rain or sprinklers. You do re-apply periodically, but not so often. This is the best thing I've found so far. I agree with gracie above, who said that they tend to leave the larger hosta alone.... HOWEVER, they will love to gnaw on the emerging pips in the spring (which makes the hosta look a little mutilated when the leaves unfurl), so next spring I'm going to be out there with my Bobbex right from the get-go!
