Grocery Store Hot Pepper Seeds?

Will hot pepper seeds germinate, that have been bought from peppers from the grocery store? I saw a nice big package of huge blood red Scotch Bonnets for sale,(and at a price for next to nothing compared to what the seed companies want for 10 seeds!) I have maybe a couple hundred seeds now, for $2.50! So I bought them.

They are from the Dominican Republic, that's what it says on the package. The peppers are nearly all blood red,a few are red/orange. They are VERY VERY hot! I took a tiny taste.:)

BUT will the seeds germinate from peppers that have been in refridgeration ??? I want to cut them open and scrape out the seeds and try to grow some real Scotch Bonnets,..from the Dominican Republic.

Hey, I know they are genuine:). But will they germinate? Should I plant a ton of seeds, and risk a pot full of seedlings, or plant only a few and see what happens? Should I dry them out a few days? Any help from anyone with past experience in doing this, would be great! Thanks.
