gee. I was at Lowe's yesterday & didn't even ask cuz I didn't think they would carry it.

Could you post the manufacturer's site so I have a way to get the product, in case my Lowe's doesn't carry it?

I'll post here when I find it, how it works. I'd be nice if people didn't feel it necessary to poison and gas moles.

Mole Out is made by Dr T's and I found several web pages for them. Posted more than one because the font is hard to read on two of them and the others don't show their phone number etc.

I forgot to mention that I did a Google search for

"castor oil gopher repellent" (without the quote marks) and came up with a lot of formulas for making your own using only castor oil, dishwasher detergent, and water. This would probably be cheaper than buying a commercial product.

Went to Home Depot and Lowes web sites to search for mole out. They don't show it so if they do not have it today, I am going to get a bottle of castor oil and make my own.

I picked up the last container in stock at Lowes a few minutes ago. Just under $10 for 5 lbs. Now, I just hope it works.

I found a product in Gardens Alive called Mole-Med Dry.
It is castor-bean based and all natural.
Not sure if this is the same product as Dr. T's. We are going to try it in our community garden.
I'll let you know how it works.

I'm trying real hard to remember the recipe that worked for me. About 1/4 castor oil, 1/4 dish soap to 1/2 water. Put this in a hose end sprayer. My "Guess" is about 3 T. per gallon & spray away. It really does send the moles packing. I am still trying to find the exact measurments on the computer. If I find them I will post it. This is a lot cheaper than buying the mixed stuff. Problem is, trying to find a good source around town for the Castor Oil.

I got castor oil yesterday at a drug store (of course it is for human consumption and a small bottle) Some drug stores have it behind the conter...guess someone played a joke and gave it to some kids and it killed them...so the story went. So if you do not see it where the antiacid and laxitives, ask the druggist. I do not know where to get larger bottles. Any one have any ideas out there.

Castor oil for humans is not the same product as the
Castor Bean Product mentioned in the above posts.

I don't know about gophers but I've used the castor mixture with moderate to good success. This year I tried something new that I read about (I will try to find and post the link), it may not be new to some of you but...If you have cats or access to used cat litter (the clumping kind), take a clump (urine only!!!) and put it in the entrance hole. Sounds pretty gross but I've had less problems this year with moles..(none in fact) since putting a bit of used litter in all the holes I found..It was much easier and didn't seem to bring any other unwanted creatures around!

well, I'm glad if it works for you..I tried it (cat urine clump) and found it works for a while, then they seem to figure out that it isn't a real cat and ignore it.

plus it sure makes a mess when it rains.

I tried the fox urine that you buy- no luck with that either.
