Ants & aphids (symbiotic relationship?) What to do?

My morning glories are infested. The leaves have some holes which appear to have been used for house constuction: tunnels which have been created by the ants along the stem of the morning glories. They've stopped chewing holes in the leaves, but under each leaf the ants are active, apparently farming these tiny aphid-like bugs which are reproducing like mad. (Possibly not aphids, not sure).

I'm curious about this ant-aphid relationship, if anyone knows what's happening.

But mostly I need to know what to do about it! My poor morning glory is suffering from it.

Thanks!
