Sometimes we have to just leave these cuttings alone for them to root. The best advice you can receive is to leave them alone and forget about them. I know its hard, especially when you are in an area (6A) with cold nights.

I would keep my cuttings inside until you can leave them outside without messing with them. (warm temps during the day and nightime temps above 50) Don't forget to keep them protected from rain when you put them outside. Moving them inside and back outside isnt good for them. They like to be left alone. We want to always poke and look and we want to do the best for the cuttings, but when we try and be helpful...we usually cause more problems.

If you can provide bottom heat that will be the best for your cuttings. That will be the best for rooting. Having an inflo on a cutting doesn't mean that it is rooting. It is because the stem was getting ready to push one before the stem was cut for your cutting . The energy is being focused on the inflo. Some cut the inflo off to allow the cutting to focus its energy on rooting.

Remember that even in warmer climates, it can take 6-8 weeks for the roots to form and for it to leaf out. Most of us would wait to water the cutting only when the leaves are about 4-6 inches long. Then we would water lightly around the rim only to keep the water away from the stem. If you feel like it needs some moisture, you can always give it a spritz of water once a week (lightly). We always like to water at the initial potting up of the cutting and then leave it be.

Here's mine -- I would not poke that thing with a pin. Each precious drop of sap that is lost may cause it to shrivel even more and who knows? you might be introducing a pathogen into it.

Cuttings can form inflos and still not be rooted. So be sure not to water it until leaves form. You can maybe mist it a bit.

I have a 'Plastic Pink' cutting that got very shriveled over winter. I thought it was a goner. I misted it ocassionally, but no water. Lo and behold, as soon as it developed a few roots, it plumped right up (It rooted in my basement over winter).

Just keep that baby warm and toasty. You should know pretty soon whether it will root.

I checked the root system an it has begun rooting. It has 3 leaves, 2 which are about 6inches long. It got more slight wrinkles the day before yesterday an I think it was because of the heat (reached 88F).

Yay for leaves! I would not put it in direct sun outside if it has been developing leaves indoors. They will burn and it will have to regenerate new leaves. Slowly acclimate it starting in semi-shade or dappled shade.

Well I've been sitting them outside on an off when weather permits for a couple weeks now. Should I still sit it in the shade? I just put paper towel tubes on the branches for protection.

if you have been giving them some sun off and on for the last few weeks, then i would say to let them enjoy the sunshine...do you still bring them in at night? When i was talking about this particulat one, i mean the rooted cutting that has leaves. I would make sure you dont let the stem bend or move around while you have it in transit. Sometines i putsmall white rocks around a new cutting to get it the extra support too! or i go the the tie down way of secureing the plumeries. You can always fid them Green forms to hlpe you with them in your pot to help stabalize the with twine. I find mine at Lowes new the garden stakes..i like the green rods, they comein different lenghts too! Sounds like you are doinf gret..

It all changes when they are not rooting, so i am so glad that this one is. Put it in the sun and let it get the bottom heat...it will love it!!! now...keep the other rooted cutting quiet.!!! LOL...theb when they are ready, let the party begin!!!

What i was trying to say, i like the different size green rods (stakes) that come in different sizes at the big box stores. I put them in the container and will tie them down.
