Gray's - Grey's little leaf? Yaupon where?

I am currently landscaping around my pool. After reading Steve Dobbs Ok.Gardener's Guide he mentioned a particular Yaupon shrub of the Gray's or "Grey's little leaf" variety. He stated it is one of his favorites. Has anyone in Oklahoma had success finding - growing this shrub. And am looking for suggestions of an "architecturally interesting" shrub or non-invasive rooted ornamental tree that would accent a small raised bed adjacent to a concrete pool. The pool mimics a natural pond with dark bottom and flagstone coping with dessert-sand colored granite deck. The obvious qualites would be staying relatively small "less than " 10 feet and having little leaf drop (realizing that any dediduous tree will have some). I am interested in a tree or shrub that has an "irregular or untamed canopy" like that of branching yaupon. I am not opposed to any evergreen having similar characteristics. Thanks in advance for any help.
