Maui Plumeria Gardens?

Has anyone ever bought cuttings from here? They have some beautiful rainbow plummies I was thinking about buying and trying to grow...thoughts?

I love Maui Plumeria Gardens stuff. Their prices are fair for the large cuttings you get, sometimes they sell plumies fromt he Toba Collection like Uncle Robbie.
I personally have bought a lot of plumies from MPG, especially as gifts for other collectors. Great service, great products and quality. Best communication of all the sellers I have done business with.

I second Freak. Nothing but great deals and service. Their rooted plants are a bargain. I have many. Jennifer often throws in a freebie some of which have turned out to be fine plants. Highly recommended. Bill

Thanks guys for all the info. I need to talk to my sister about visiting in May. Although I haven't been there in awhile, I agree the Dole Plantation is a great place to visit. Thanks James! Funny you mention Upland Nursery as I actually called there a few days ago to inquire about what is out front ready for sale. I figure since I am within driving distance, I would just prefer to get rooted plants. Bill Moragne wasn't ready yet. Apparently, they only sell them in bloom...or by cutting online. I was really tempted to go down and pick up a 7 gallon "King" but at $289 it was out of my budget. I remember several years ago the owner took me on a trip to the Plumeria growing areas in the back. To see hundreds upon hundreds of huge Plumeria trees blooming in every color imaginable was something I will never forget. Upland Nursery is pricey, but worth it for the quality. Hopefully, Mary Helen Eggenberger will be ready soon for purchase. They had a "My Valentine" ready and they are similar but I'm opting for the MHE since I think the scent is probably just a little stronger. Tony

grafted??? those didn't look grafted to me... but I don't know much about grafting... don't be surprised if the leaves fall off of the ebay cuttings... since they don't really have roots, they can't support the leaves, it doesn't mean they are sickly... everything else looks really good... and many people have been having trouble with Exotic Plumeria... I don't use the pea gravel, but many do... in my climate the stones heat up and burn the stalk... the gravel is more or less used to help keep it standing up straight... I don't think it will keep the soil moist and if it's a problem don't water as frequently... Brittany

Happyvegan-ya know, I looked at my seedlings and I would say that so far dark leaves are not necessary to have a darker flower like a red, but my darker ones haven't bloomed yet to say if they are always or usually darker. So anyone who has 'regular' colored leaves, it could still be something colorful or dark! Also, I sure didn't mean to hijack your thread! disneyhorse - that's what I hope, that it evens out a bit. The buds grew fairly long before they opened so it does have a decent size to it. Rox - ya know, it has a faint smell but to me so far several of them don't have much fragrance...it could just be me? The heat? I don't know! I would love to see your seedling blooms, I hope they don't keep you waiting much longer! Jen, you guys aren't going to help me get rid of any LOL! I thought, if they don't look good they have to go...easier said than done!!! It is a strong plant with decent size blooms & big inflo though, hopefully they clean up. Peg - it does look like a pin wheel! It reminds me of a distant cousin of 'Granny Rolong' (Grainy? IDK) Laura you're so sweet! I guess I was quick to judge, I should go easy on her, she's just a baby LOL!! Oh man, Corona Surprise - hubba hubba!!!

Jennifer of Maui Plumeria Gardens is wonderful. I love the plants I've bought from her and am anxiously waiting for my "mystery" one to bloom.

I will also join in the chorus of praise for Maui Plumeria Gardens. The cuttings I ordered from them were larger than expected and I received a free mystery cutting that turned out to be a very nice pink.

I just received 4 beautiful healthy cuttings from MPG. Jennifer is very friendly and a nice person to do business with. I highly recommend MGP as well.

Hi again,
So I have read a lot from this forum and tried to absorb as much as possible...Besides doing to plumeria101 is there a book maybe someone can recommend? I posted another question about my "cigar" I bought from Maui...it was at one of those ABC stores and I am wondering if it is still ok...I see on the stick that there are some white "eyes". What does that mean? I live in Portland/Vancouver area...The weather has been odd here...I had the plummie in a 4-5 inch pot on the window but I am wondering if I should move it somewhere warmer? it has been in the high 30s to mid 60s here...And when should I start fertilizing? I bought some 12-55-6 mix?

will chime in on Maui gardens, I just ordered a cutting, now is on its way, Paul Weissich..yellow orange one, recommended as a good one..hope the mystery cutting comes too. Saw that cutting go expensive hope will root. Have two mystery, one was nebals rainbow, immediately bloomed..Have a second that is growing well. For me the rooted are a big pricy, but good plants.
