My Coconut Palm 15 months later

This weekend will mark 15 months since my Cocos Nucifera Green Malayan was planted on March 20, 2008. It endured an unusually cold winter it's first year, with lows to 28F on two non-consecutive occasions, but was wrapped during those nights and heated with X-mas lights. Other nights I used a large fan to combat frost when temps dipped into the low 40s and upper 30s with clear skies and calm winds. With all that said, there was some minor damage this winter to the lower fronds, but the fruit continues to set and mature, and plenty of green growth quickly shoots out. Perhaps the most amazing of all is the rapid growth rate of the trunk. It went from about 1/2 foot of wood to almost 2 feet of wood in it's first 15 months! Fertilized with Carl Pool every 3 months year-round.
