I saw someone here with large squarish water jugs they were laying on the side so that is how I got the kitty litter container idea. the plastic one I was talking about is like the ones on the link I attached http://www.tidycats.com/Products/Scoop/ I think it has enough room. I planed to cut a flap and leave the lid/cap on since I would have a hole on the top for air and water. I could also remove the lid later for more air. I agree with the layering. I plan to add cardboard and newspaper directly on top of grass/weeds then compost, garden soil/topsil then layer of fine mulch. I saw someone post this method here last year. This would add nutrients and moisture for you and you could probably plant right in the mix. Since you say your soil is bad I would make the layers nice and thick. Maybe each spring you can add new layers of compost, soil then mulch? I did this in one bed for 2 years and this year I have really soft soil. I had rock hard clay in that area. This year as I plant my WS babies I have richer soil with worms everywhere. (if you add nutrients the worms will come, i also added coffee grounds for them when i could get them) I still planted in the area just each season I added what I could and topped with mulch to help hold moisture and fight weeds/grass. Oh I can't wait to see your cabinets! Progress on the outside of our place was good last week but not so great for the inside. There is still MUCH to do. The electrician and plumber were both suppose to show up Saturday and get the electrical done and get the house hooked up to the well. Neither one of them showed up. Was perfect weather this weekend and now it is raining out. I am a tad bit ticked off by neither one of them showing up. The builder stated two weeks ago we would be in by my birthday. I can't wait to call him tomorrow and tell him it is my birthday. LOL! So to answer your question on the move in date. I have no idea! LOL! I have not set up the closing date, I was suppose to set it up for Friday but something told me to wait so I am glad I did. We did took three boxes of toys out of storage for DD and she played for hours on her bedroom floor. I was sealing her grout in her bathroom and I kept hearing her say "OOHHHHH! I forgot I even had this!" It made me smile. Soon, very soon! BUT not soon enough *wink* I start my new job on Tuesday so all my free time is quickly slipping. We hoped to be moving today but no such luck. Maybe a couple more weeks. Good luck with the cabinets! What kind did you go with? Can't wait to see them! Kel

In every home there seems to be a place, usually in the kitchen, where the mail and such pile up. We drop our keys, wallets and purses and always swear we will keep it clean. My last house it was a tiny surface that was about 2x2. My new house has this long separate counterspace that I love to use for buffets. Of course the rest of the time it is the dumping ground for everything from bills to keys to spare change to sale ads for stores I need to go to. Every now and then when I clean it off I am always amazed at how nice it is when it is clean. Then it is back to being messy. My dh is horrible about his desk so I leave it alone. Every time I even dust it he claims I threw something out or moved it where he cannot find it. When the magazines he receives pile up in kitchen I simply pile them up in his office on the floor. Eventually he just throws them all out. I am going to start putting them in the bathroom for his reading pleasure. Then every week I will throw them out for him and put the new stack in there. He got really bummed when I took out the spare bedroom set from the office and gave it to our dd. I put her tiny twin in there. Currently there are the following on the bed: table pad I took off diningroom table, his swim shorts and a shirt, pile of magazines, a fishing reel, fishing lures in the bag still, and a bunch of other things that do not belong there. Oh, and lets not forget the video arcade game that he bought to restore... Luckily all this stuff needs to be removed when we redo the floors. And once it comes out it will not necessarily be going back in!!!!!!lol I have become a neat freak in my last few years and although I will not be able to change my dh's ways, I can help make them more tollerable.
