Great picture, and great encouragement. I just wish mine would bloom before it's time to bring it back inside. Well, maybe next year, as you say. In any case, I'd love to see more pictures.

Remember if they bloom by fall.. Leave the inflo intact. I have (4) year old inflo's still producing. Yes... I also notice many new inflo's peeking up and I'm sure those will not have enough time to bloom, so those will just stay on to give me June Blooms next year. Keep Fertilizing... I fertilize with Schultzes 10/50/10 once a week into fall. And then Once a month in winter months, then Once a week once they start showing new growth in late March.

Since you're up north, when you take your Plumerias inside for the winter, where do you keep them? Do they lose all their leaves? And when do you take them back outside, late spring or early summer?

I have three that I've rooted and they all have leaves on them now and they are outside. No blooms yet and I'm thinking I may not get any this summer. But there's always next summer.

I just bring them in and put them in my kitchen. No extra light... just east morning light from the doorwall. The plants are 10 feet away from doorwall. I do nothing special with them, I'm lazy. Blooms continue inside until late November. 75% leaves drop by mid February. I put the trees outside under filtered light when temps are above 50 degrees... same with fall. These are large trees so I can't bring them out and in easily anymore. As long as its above 50 degrees and sunny you could probably leave them outside a little longer if you can easily bring them in and outin the Fall, (only if there's a threat of below 45 for two or more days, will I bring them in). Usually thats last week of Sept. Now if they weren't so big, they could of stayed out a couple more weeks. Sept here can give us a couple cold days and then a couple weeks that are still good. Spring they are brought out usually late April, again depending on the weather forcast. Now if you can carry them in and out... Then you have an advantage to get them out earlier, as long as its above 50, Sunny, and NOT REAL windy in the spring, then bring them in during the night, take them out around noon. Another thing... IMPORTANT... I do start putting Systemic insecticide (Orthenex 1/2 Strength -- Full strength kind of yellows the leaves) in the soil starting 3rd week in August and every two weeks thereafter to make sure the little buggies don't come in with the plants. The Systemic is stinky, so I don't like to do it in the house, or I would. This really prevents the spider mites from destroying the leaves, and may be a good reason why my leaves stay on longer and don't start falling until January.

Are you Northern Plumi growers getting ready for spring? Mine are getting some morning sun through my doorwall and they are beginning to show some life in their growing tips. Another 2 weeks and they will really be picking up. I have started feeding them on every watering. Its Feb 28th.

Wake Up Michigan... Get those Plumi's ready.
