hi i have a tiny African violet growing in hydroton in a shot glass( yes its very small), when i looked at the roots i saw extremely small black colored bugs.

they don't have any legs, that i can see.

they are worm like and they seem to be able to jump on top of the water. they're so small they float on top of the water.

i have the shot glass inside of a plastic container;the container is the height of shot glass. i have seen these bugs on the bottom of the plastic container; they were dead.

i found that pouring peroxide in the water kills them :) but i would like to know what they are. i don't think they are fungus gnat larvae because they are all black not just the head, besides i don't have any flying insects

help me pease! thank you
