I'm with ya jpc even if it is a slooooow climb out of winter so far at least its steady,and that will keep me honest(and realistic) about what I try to do now I think by the 7-10 of April things should be mild enough here to move my little goodies outdoors,heres to a great growing season for all us palm nuts-HAPPY SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've moved all my zone 8-9 palms outside. At least there's more room in the garage now. Zone 10 stuff is still indoors.

I live in Camden arkansas and every time i try to put up my greenhouse this damn wind gives me a hard time it blows every day i swear it does !!

Let me tell you about some wind. Here is the view from my front yard looking towards the west. I think that little toy house at the bottom of the hill is Dorothy Gale's from Kansas. LOL! My bananas will surely take some hits this year. Most of the storms come from that direction. Looks like the worst is over for you. BTW My landlord wont let me get rid of the stupid bushes in my flower bed.

All i know is my visqueen has been ripped off 4 times and it's getting expensive lol ! Sounds like you got a cool landlord. By the way... what kind of soil do you put your seedlings in ? What kind of root stimulator do you use ?

You'll never believe this but I got the seeds in December and I was broke very broke when I germinated them. There was a lot of regular miracle gro soil left in the flower bed and a lot of the mulch was totally broken down with plain old clay dirt mixed in. So I went outside and scooped up as much junk as I could and mixed it all together in a big tub. Very unconventional but it seems to be working great. Now if the soil was to muddy or anything I wouldn't have used it. There was actually a lot of potting soil left over from all the plants in the bed. I use (Green Light Root Stimulator & Starter Solution)(5-15-5) mix 3.5 tablespoons per 1 gallon of water.

Just under 2 hours to go!!!!! And its 60f at almost midnight!!!!! Break out the champagne!!!!!

Josh those trees in the background - those White cedars- - They are the ugliest F#@&*n trees and everybody uses them probably cause there cheap. I hate those things they are way over used, they grow up to look like such a mess. other than that nice pic..lol. For ceders I like the eastern red Ceder the best at least they have a little character and good for wildlife in our neck of the woods. I'm venting..lol

I hate them too! The people that own our townhouses planted those when they built the places. In a few years if we're still here I'm going to ask if I can plant a huge group of bananas in front of that back tree line. They let me plant all over my yard but probably wont let me do that. We'll see. But yes besides that its a very nice but windy view. It looks much nicer when I'm looking across all of the plants in my yard and the mountains and fields are all green. Thanks!
