Thanks guys - I was able to get another fuel cut-off valve assembly for the 3.5 HP tecumseh / Sears chipper. MAN - I couldn't believe how *BADLY* the carb was corroded. This carb is not a bowl type arrangement - its bowl is actually a diaphragm and semi-flat plate which pulses the adjacent fuel cut-off valve... Its a very simple and a very cute little carb ... Yes carbs (just like my grease covered teddy bear) can be cute and cuddly too... The fuel line connection on the carb which has roughly a 3/16 ID was COMPLETELY CLOGGED !!! I really didnt think this dude was gonna run after I had it opened it up and dug in deep (it just kept getting worse). After bolting it back up I had to work pretty hard to get it running - as it has 2 needle valve screws on it... And of course I dont know what the initial settings are for them ... Anyway - after fiddling with it for about 5 minutes I was able to get it to run pretty well ... Now I have to get an air filter for it ... I wasnt gonna spend any money on it until I saw it running. (as the repair shop guy said - Yeah best to bake the cake b4 you put the icing on it) I must admit I am darn o'feared of this little machine... While it has a little 3.5HP engine on it ... I never realized how friggen dangerous these things are!!! As Im dumping small brush into it, its blowing chips out the bottom, but its so violent down in the bottom end - that it will frequently toss splintered wood out of the top-load hopper as well ... WHOA!!!! that stick just went past my head at a frightening speed ... Definitely something which requires safety glasses, gloves , maybe a full faced motorcycle helmet and a bomb defusing suit !! and absolutely NO CHILDREN in the immediate vicinity either... I may have to craigslist this thing ... Alas - Thanks for your help ...

When I was a kid in RI we often would eat at a breakfast place in East Greenwich on the weekends. Some of the regulars there had green hair - apparently a local band. I don't recall that the band name was "The Rhipsalis", though.

JohnReb's analysis is very good, and very informative when it comes to BS. I spray, so I would not know about resistence. My first reaction would be puzzlement, because it definitely looks like Miss AAB, but I would've been skeptical because there are very few modern Hybrid Tea's that can resist BS and no care. (The bloom form, size and single flower stems is conclusive for HT.) JohnReb did some good research finding that out. I have both Miss AAB and Electron, and Electron does not seem a likely candidate. Electron's bush is fairly squat, although it will reach a decent height with good care, 5-6 feet seems a little much without some regular feeding. Electron's flowers are also not as large as 6-7". Its thorns are very prominent and plentiful, too. They are particularly vicious and should illicit a prominent description, unlike what's mentioned here. Miss AAB does have a couple of unique traits. It almost always throws off as many blooms that are deformed as ones that are exhibition form. If a few of those buds are deformed, it is definitely Miss AAB. Also, the bush in the picture looks better behaved than Miss AAB. Mine will get some pretty ragged growth. Left alone and unpruned, a typical bush would probably not have a shape that nice. Although, it does look like there's some errant growth around the bottom. Perhaps the really errant growth gets "naturally" pruned. Miss AAB is a pretty good guess, and JohnReb's research on BS resistence may be the most important factor to narrow the choices.

I moved into a new house this year, and to my pleasant surprise, peonies started popping up throughout the yard this spring. They have long since finished, but i would love to ID them. There were a couple Krinkled white's as well, but i identified them quite easily. Peony #1: Peony #2: Thanks!
