Carica papaya

Your plant, one of my favorites) is Bush Ivy (Fatshedera lizei). It is important to understand how it grows to use it correctly. Unlike other ivies, it does not have little roots that cling. It must be supported (espalied) on a wall, fence or pergola. As it matures in your zone it will send out branches that could be 12' long and it becomes very heavy so needs a strong support. It can be pruned back and controlled any time of the year. I have grown it on a fence using tiers of grape wire supended through screw eyes and the branches afixed to the wire with single wrap velcro. Also, the entrance to my garden in a former home was a strong arch with Bush Ivy secured to it. In the late winter you will note quite a bit of yellowing and dropping leaves. Normal situation not to worry about. Hopefully you can find a growing situation for this plant. It is a beauty.

on my 5 acres... they seem most prolific under oak ... and the link above confirms such ... its a PIA to hit one in august.. on the riding lawn mower .... the large ones can put up quite a cloud of dust ... i consider ALL shrooms.. a free garden show of nature ... and there is really.. no way to get rid of them ... since they are usually feeding off decaying material down in your soil ... so short of removing and replacing soil ... you may as well decide to enjoy them .. lol .. teach the kids that NONE are edible ... whether they are or not.. the lesson is for them to not eat fungii in the yard ... when they grow up.. they might tell you that you lied to them ... and you will smile.. knowing full well ... that wasnt the only time... lol ... ken

@hc mcdole thank you so much for all of the information and the wonderful pictures! Yes, he got them from Kroger! I was shocked as they are nothing like the typical plants I always see there so I went the next day to see what else may be there that he decided to pass over and there was a huge red and green maranta that stopped me in my tracks! It was splayed out in the center of the table and taking most of the space- so other plants were around....and on it. I would have taken it home then but would have needed more space so planed to return after my son's karate class.....well we know how this story goes! It was of course GONE and I was heartbroken yada yada lol but back to the ones my husband did get- the begonia was BEAUTIFUL day one and two as you can see from the pic.....but by the 3rd 4th day before I finally had time to repot it this weeked) it started declining rapidly. I think it was in too went soil for too long. The very tips started to fold down then the leaves started to get darker and soggy looking then crispy one by one. There are a few large leaves that still are darkened like this about halfway, but the smaller leaves were just crispy and barely hanging on. The roots were....okay as far as I could tell during the repot, Im just not sure if it will bounce back from this or not. Im hoping so its a beautiful plant. Would you suggest I do anything in particular?
