Has anyone ever tried this?

Okay, this might sound a little wierd, but has anyone ever used a toaster oven to germinate their palm seeds? I have seeds of dypsis decaryii, caryota urens, butia capitata, howea forsteriana and ensete ventricosa in ceramic pots in a toaster oven set to 70 degrees 24/7. The packets said that the seeds needed 60-70 degrees to germinate, so i figures this was a fair way to keep the temps constantly warm (same principle as using bottom heat). Iv'e only had them in there since last weekend so i won't know the result for another couple of weeks (or months for others). I also planted an equal amount outside in the soil to compare the difference in germination times (outdoors it is fluctuating between high 50s for highs and high 30s for lows) This technique has proven to work for mango seeds in the past.
