Purp, supposed to reach a high of 72..I HOPE they're wrong and temps reach 90. When I woke, I turned on the oven...that was 7am..it's now 10:30 and it's still on. I'm dressed like an Eskimo. lol. Two shirts, pants, knee socks, slipper boots, and a robe. lolol. Don't send a box of heat, send a fridge-size carton. Here's the last pic we took of Coco.... It was a beautiful, 'hot,' sunny day. Michael even brought Iggy out. Coco Coco's little tongue is sticking out..it's so cute when he does that..looks like a stuffed animal. :) And here's Iggy, Mike's iguana sitting in Smoke Tree Also, the last of my birds. Can't believe my winged angels are now in heaven. I guess, going to heaven is part of life, but it doesn't mean we must like the idea. I feel sorry for Sparkle. When he was born, we had four adult birds, plus his siblings. Among 4 'tiels, there were approximately 12 chicks. Mystic, 'Sprakle's dad,' passed away last Dec..sorry, I wrote the wrong dates earlier. Then Sparkle's sister, Moonbeam passed 2 months later. And you know what happened to Cricket. I hope everyone's pets are well and happy...hugs Toni

Thanks! How close is your coco from reaching that goal and hows your coco's doing? Mine has a new spear coming up but it may or may not open before next year. Depends on how much more heat we get. Right now temps have been on the cool side, like 70f-80fs for day temps and like low/mid 50fs at night. A little cool for coco's but still warm enough for slow growth and to stay outside. I don't think this year is done yet with warmer temps but we will have to wait and see. @ stanofh- Yup. I think that was the problem. The top of the soil was holding too much water and wouldn't let it seap through. And thats the reason I just had to buy it lol. I seen how beautiful they are in SoCal. I should have bought the triples but I wanted to test it out with just one first. They are more expensive in triples even though they were smaller plants than the single. I figured the bigger the plant the better chance it has to survive our winters. It should be alright unless we have another cold winter. Even with the last few winters I seen several survive as well as some majestys and fishtails.

Wow, Shannon/garden_witch, you sure put together a special package!! I was so excited when I saw the mailman pull up and carry my package up to the porch! Ok, well first of all, there was a card with beautiful flowers on it, and such a pretty envelope, I loved it! And I really enjoyed reading your letter, and learning more about you! I liked seeing the photo of your backyard, looks like you've sure got your work cut out for you, like I do with my yard! But you've got a great, fresh space to work with looks like, and I'd love to see more photos this summer once you've got some areas of that yard filled with all those plants from your winter sowing! And here's what was in the package: A great coffee mug with a garden-themed picture on it of a watering can and some other things, I will be using it later for my coffee; and even better, it was filled with mini candy bars! Mmmmmm.... :) I tried one of those Midnight Milky Way bars, which are made with dark chocolate around the outside, (I love dark chocolate, the richer the better,) and oh my goodness was it ever good. I'd never tried those before, and now I'm really wishing there were more than two! I NEED more!! Must... go... buy... more.... see, look what you did to me, Shannon! LOL. Okay, moving right along. A pretty pot with hand-painted flowers on it that I love, (I love pots, and am always wanting more of them, so it was perfect!) And in the pot, was a baggie of several different kinds of seeds that I can winter sow, (woohoo, I love seeds! lol) and a beautiful anklet with jade colored stones in it, which is great because green is my favorite color, and I love jade colored things. Then there was a beautiful little garden ornament, which is right up my alley, I absolutely love those types of things! I have to find a special place to hang it now... Also, some pretty faerie gifts tags and book plates, a wonderful smelling homemade candle, (it is lit as we speak,) and last but certainly not least, a great gift! It was a bag labeled "Seed snatching kit." And in it, was a little notebook, a really cool gel pen that writes in several different colors, some seed envies, and a pair of Singer thread snippers, which I never would've thought to use for this purpose, but it is just perfect for snipping off seed pods! They will go to great use, that's for sure. And a couple of the gifts were inside these very pretty handcrafted bags, which I just love. And Shannon, where on earth did you find that alien wrapping paper? LOL! I love it. :) Everything is wonderful, and I am very thankful that you are my new pal! ~Summer

Hi Dawn, please thank your hubby as well will you, i am excited about getting my herb garden started,and about the poppy seed,your hubby actually gathered the seed for you?How nice. Wayne is really nice also, he does not glean seed for me, but he would if i asked him,he does pretty much any thing i ask of him. I understand about the excitement of putting the box together, i think we all try to do the best we can,any way i do,and its proof, you do.ha ha Where did you ever find them garden gloves?They look like they will work out great.Can't wait to try them. I hope your box will be as nice as mine,and i hope every one will go read the last posting,so they can see what all you sent. cAROL
